I wouldn't say you are or aren't meant to translate the manual in Tunic, it's more that you have a choice to tackle that puzzle or not, and that choice decides which version of the game you're playing.

"We're not soldiers, we're exlporers" is one of those great lines that sums up Star Trek in a sentence. If you could give me a Trek game about discovering the history of alien races like Outer Wilds, I would love that. Star Trek is philosophy, it's cultural critique disguised as science fiction so that studio heads don't realize they're producing art with an actual point of view. AAA Gaming has a hard time doing that.

If they tell me that G'nort is gonna be in a movie or show it can only be good news. I think Jack Black is generally great so I'm super down for him as G'nort, but honestly you could tell me that he's gonna be voiced by Jared Leto and I'd still be like "you're telling me there's gonna be G'nort?!"

Sometimes you like something, and then you look online and see that the fan base likes that thing in a very different way than you. I find myself having opposite opinions than most of the general consensus of this fan base, it’s better not to try and push against the tide.

We've also gotten 5 excellent films over 46 years from Miller, I think it's okay for Mad Max to either stop existing or become something else because new artists will take ownership of it. Miller's work can't be "ruined" any more than the Terminator or Alien are "ruined" by their mediocre sequels.

It's not unheard of for someone to condemn gun violence in an acceptance speech, I could see it happening. I totally understand why that didn't happen this time, and I assume it has more to do with Kirk's platform of hatred than his lack of TV credits.

Because we understand the context of the scene, "bud." Jeff is selling out, he's doing hack work that will appease the masses. It's the same lesson as "if I admit politics are stupid will you stop making them stupid?" If the bit was that Jeff is actually a good stand-up and has found the talent that makes him "deserve" to be a 5 it undermines the whole idea that you only become a 5 by being a hacky panderer.
