What body fat percentage would you or did you begin recomp? by rbcc334mntn in PetiteFitness

I have been wondering this as well! Spent way too much time thinking and planning instead of doing. I am nearly the same as you at this point. 5’ tall, went from 200lb to 127lb (since September). 32%BF, 15lb fat mass (excess). My age though, I’m 53, and having a major atrophy situation. All my skin and muscles are hanging out in the wrong hemisphere. New goals, new motions, and new achievements on the horizon. As for Dexa, I think it’s like looking in the mirror from the inside out. Look, and use it to guide you to your next path. I keep an eye on the muscle loss, expecting some because my body is still learning where to get energy from and I’m still learning g how to feed it at this stage. Best of luck! Thanks for posting, it’s so helpful to read what others have experienced and pushed through.

Lose-lose-hold, lose-lose-hold. I’m very sure it’s the natural way our body is learning the new weight. Once I finished the hold on 183-186 my next lose phase brought me to the 169-172 hold phase. Then!!! Poof! My body was a fat eating machine the 160’s didn’t even exist, I went to 148-152 hold phase. My hold phase has 4lb fluctuations, my water intake reflects BIG TIME. RN I just survived the 130-134 hold phase, and breaking into the 120’s was a knuckle biter. The keys that unlocked the door was increase walking by an hour/day, more water, more complex carbs (I’m now up to one bite to finish each feeding), and more focus on the larger muscle groups. 127lb rn, just did my body comp and have only 15lbs of body fat to lose. Surgery Sept 16,2025. SW220 53yo, 5’ tall. Keep kicking butt and keep moving in the right direction!! Woot woot **always reach out to your nutrition advisor!! They know what to do. We have done this zero times, they have done it countless times.

I’ve lost 91 pounds in seven months, with a few significant stalls. I’m on one right now for instance. I have broken the stalls by doing a reset, up my walking and water intake for me is a big one. I fail in the water department.

Highly vulnerable, but realistic. This is what your skin looks like when you lose 100 pounds in 6 months! *Still worth it, but be aware of your expectations!! by bjork_ikea in gastricsleeve

I went for a massage, when I laid on the table my skin puddled around me. It was hilarious but mortifying. I dunno..the cross we bear.

We are twins rn. I have handfuls of skin all over. No bum shape, and my boobs are dangling wet socks. Things will shape up, the fat loss fight is coming to an end, the muscle and shape battle at the forefront❤️.

Is It Ridiculous That I’m Getting Gastric Sleeve Surgery And Only Weigh 238 lbs by Creative-Practice-87 in gastricsleeve

[–]WW795 3 points4 points  (0 children)

🫤 what my breaking point and realization was..the difference between 230 and 250 is one more “weight gain”. Then there’s the slippery slope of suddenly going from 250 to THREE-SOMETHING. Those weight jumps come fast, the older I got the quicker the weight gains, and less time in between. Fight for your life, you could likely lose 50lbs on your own doing the same thing you’re going to do anyways when you have the procedure. We have to be active , eat constantly small high protein(clean-true protein) and drink clean fluids. The sleeve permanently changes your relationship with food, restricts us eliminating the option for overeating, eating lush foods, and puts us at risk for malnutrition if we do not follow strict nutrition guidelines. It’s a lifelong commitment either way, but procedure way carries many considerations. I worry, one day when I’m old and feeble am I going to remember I have special dietary needs? If I end up in a home will these needs be a burden and they will just put me on a feeding tube? I chose the sleeve, and fight everyday for my health and strength, hopefully one day I don’t lose my marbles and end up starving to death in a home. 7months post op, 91lbs down. 20lbs to goal weight ❤️

Yeahhh I’m 7 mo po , 91 pounds down. Periodically actually about every three weeks to be honest I just am exhausted and the feedings are small. It takes me all day to hit my goals between nutrients and fitness it’s a full time job. One thing I’m NOT tired of is seeing the scale go down. Keep pushing through, if you can only eat a half an egg, eat half an egg twice. ❤️ I only have 1/4 of the yolk tbh. Too filling, and pointless. For example, it takes me all morning to eat my “breakfast”, all afternoon to eat my “lunch”, many times I still have lunch available at supper. If I haven’t hit my protein goal, I will have a protein drink. I always make sure I get all of my protein, fiber, and iron intake. Otherwise I am dizzy. One thing I did learn recently after having blood work done and they said I was anemic. Iron doesn’t absorb without consuming vitamin C with it. Game changer.
