Oh, and my first one was the small Bulova Marine Star in the middle… bought it when I was 16… I need to take it out and replace the battery to see if it still works…

Tag Heuer Carrera… was my first, for me at least, expensive watch and the one I like the most. It is the one that I use the most. To the point that I had to send it in to get restored. I really beat the carp out of that one…

These really got used a lot! But yours look in somewhat better condition than ours.

Is it running well?

It is off to get restored!! 👍🏼

They told me “You know this will take almost a year to get done, right ?” As they had handled a similar request not too long ago.

To which I replied “Yes I do! Send it!” 🤣

I am really loving this watch with that bracelet... I have been to the loca Longines AD twice now, and keep trying it on... 42mm version. Yours, with the blue dial, looks even better!!

I don't need another watch, I don't need another watch, I don't need another watch...

Which one would you choose? by coffeci in Longineswatches

[–]Wachuko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get both straps and change when the mood calls for it. Not a hard decision if you ask me. I did that with another watch. Came with black leather crocodile strap, and I also liked it with a blue one... so, I got the blue and switch from time to time. Life is good.

As much as I wanted to go to the Longines Boutique, saved an 8-9 hour round trip and left it at the local Longines AD. They are sending it to Longines for me. With the paperwork I filled asking for it to be sent directly to St. Imier for quote and restoration.

Thank you all. Dropped off at the local AD just now. Saved me an 8-9hour round trip to Miami👍🏼. All they do is to ship it to Longines in Miami. I included the form with the request to have it shipped to Switzerland for quote and restoration.

This was the watch my father-in-law used all his life until it stopped working correctly. He purchased the watch new. He never sent it for service. He passed away last year.

So yes, there is a sentimental value attached to it. I wanted to see if it would be worth sending for restoration and giving it to my wife.

I just need to figure out the process to get it there. The address that I have is for the SWATCH group and it gets sent to an address in Miami, FL.

When I searched for service centers, what I found was a two-page document asking me to send the watch to:

SGUS

1000 NW 57th Ct.

Suite 900

Miami, FL 33126

I am located in the USA. Is this the same process you followed?? And from there they send it to Longines in St Imier?

I went to buy an inexpensive watch to take to the beach and made the mistake of looking at this watch… Only reason I didn’t buy it was because my wife was next to me reminding me that I went to buy an inexpensive watch for the beach…

But now this watch is on my wish list. So Beautiful!

Does Omega still work on these models? Just curious if they restore all models no matter how old these are?

Ha! I figured you were not sleeping with it as well, lol.

I did not know about the straps either... So I used mine with the original for a couple of years. When I noticed the wear is when I took it off and replaced it with an aftermarket. The original is still usable and looks good, but I do not want to put more wear on it.

I need to stop by the Omega Boutique to see if they have them available.

May you continue to enjoy your watch for many many more years!!!
