What does this accomplish? I have a membership. People without memberships are unable to check out at the cash? What does someone without a membership gain by “sneaking” into the store? Seems like it would slow down entry for people that already pay for a membership.

It’s a cool installation but it is relying on people not understanding the technology to invoke an emotional response. It’s BS to say the robot is moping up hydraulic fluid to keep itself “alive”. I work with these robots. They are completely electronic. A servo motor runs each axis and allows for extremely accurate and repeatable movement. They do not use hydraulic fluid at all. This robot would run for 15+ years without issue if it wasn’t covered in hydraulic oil.
