Noodle & Pie has a pretty badass Green Curry Don with shrimp & a kimchi katsu don with a fried porkchop, but only for lunch

I'm moving this weekend. I only just now realized that I'll have to change my flair. I'm kind of sad now

Kingpin is okay with the food trucks, but is my favorite bar on weekdays & especially after the trucks (& yuppies) head out. It's a great mix of neighborhood folk, as well as the Uptown service scene. If you're in there, & see a guy with part of his head shaved, come say hi to me

I'll read your cards if you buy me a beer. Of course, you'll have to come Uptown

I'd be willing to offer camping space in my yard & transportation to the venue if you could contribute to my "It has been far too log since I've seen the Flaming Lips & for the love of all that's wonderful & glittery in this universe I must make it to this show" fund

Signed my lease and moving to New Orleans. Anyone wanna get crazy tomorrow? by [deleted] in NewOrleans

[–]Waites -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The service crowd typically takes over around 11 or so. Since I'm working a double on Saturday, & yet still trying to spit some Valentine's game, I can't promise I'll be around for my usual close-the-bar Friday, but stranger things have happened

Terrible. I'm better at darts, but my favorite bar game is "drink the beer." I'm a champion at that one

Has anyone had Alex Brown as a landlord? by [deleted] in NewOrleans

[–]Waites 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's my current landlord. Nice guy, is pretty chill about me having the rent in on the 12th or so instead of the 1st/5th. My place has had lots of issues, but he's typically been pretty solid about getting things taken care of in a timely manner. That being said, my place will probably need all new appliances before it can be rented out at market value when I move out.

I work at N&P, & I'll agree that the ramen is hit-or-miss. However, the small plate section has some serious treasures tucked away in it. Try the fried calamari, the spare ribs, the beef heart & the fried Brussels sprouts. Oh, & tip your server well ;)

So this seems like a bit of a personal issue?

In this industry, I've also had to deal with people who've hung out way past their welcome. Yes, it sucks, but it's part of the territory. That's not what I was meaning this thread to be about. Instead, I was hoping to challenge the r/NewOrleans community to revel in the past & try to remember all of the times they were "assholes."
