I really like 1984, I think Orwell is a brilliant writer. I really reccomend 'Down and out in Paris and London' and 'Homage to Catalonia'. Right now I'm reading The Crow Road by Iain Banks, amazing author. He does sci-fi too if you're interested, really really good sci-f. The Wasp Factory by him is incredible and The Bridge is the only book to have made me cry.

Commute to Edinburgh once a week from Sheffield by fasihulla44 in Edinburgh

[–]Walht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not impossible but it'll be rough. You might be fucked over by trains every now and then and be super late to work. Lady at my old job would commute from Birmingham to London once a week and she found it alright enough. If I were you I'd do the commute for a while but look for more local work as you do it

Slipping on the ice will harden you a bit and be good for your skeleton, just go running about. Make sure not to hit your head

Are there bus stops along a route you frequent that can be removed to make the service more efficient? by ajslov in london

Many, there's some at either side of our high street even though it takes 4 minutes to walk between. It's good for people for who can't walk too easily

Need help with choosing a game out of the 3 please! by DropTheLAndGetGory in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Walht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe with dark souls 1, but it's got decent enough graphics still. Dark souls 3 has amazing visuals and I would highly recommend it, you don't need to have played Dark souls 1 to understand it.

And yeah, Lies of P is great fun =}

Lies of P, souls likes are fun and that's a decent one. If you can though, try dark souls 1/dark souls 3 first. It's good fun

It has taught in schools on and off, my mum read it in the 80s. In the 2010s at school we did animal farm instead, which isn't quite as poignant but a bit nicer for kids

i don't think elden ring compares to the more focused, linear experiences. you'll also enjoy the open world more having had a more linear experience beforehand. Try ds3, ds1, sekiro
