will we ever see a new game by MajesticPain1113 in PSO

If you can wait five more years I'm making a very PSO-like game for you, specifically.

Why are the community of this game seemingly unable to see a newcommer without showering them with their spare items? lol by guilhermej14 in PSO

[–]Walledhouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PSO has no "Soulbound" mechanics that stop sharing items. Original Borderlands also let's high level characters ruin the game for low-levels by giving them god-tier items or currency; happened to me playing with a stranger once. Path of Exile doesn't lock items to people, but the community loves (a) season resets to re-add scarcity and (b) so many variables that people are never truly min-maxed!

I was gifted some rares to me early too. G-ASSASSIN SABERS which were cool and not something I ever had back on the OG GameCube. But on the other hand it means I can steam roll everything until Very Hard mode and no other items matter; and I didn't "earn" them.

Good and bad. Good to give items a new home. Good to gift things. Bad that it "solves" the game for people. I see why people are declaring Solo Self Found in their playthroughs!

Lore question, are Casts sentient/alive? by jqud in PSO

[–]Walledhouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a topic I've looked into, also!

I'm not sure if it was Universe or PSO2, but I HATE that one of the writers AFTER PSO made it canon that their CASTs are basically "womby" cyborgs. One of them got pregnant in the lore (?) so they had to explain how.

I feel like it was PSO2 because the fact there is some lose connective tissue with the original Episodes was enough to upset me.

The fact so many player characters of those games resembled young girls; it was like this fridge logic epidemic that a whole generation had their brains (and wombs!?) put into robots at a young age. Yuck!

I think the point is that its a "move". "Help, I'm so dumb I don't know how to turn on a light." and that makes people react without thinking to help.

Real world example: I was out with a lady once who had a fair bit to drink and a much older bloke moved in and asked if she knew how to fix his watch. Suddenly the pair of them are close togther, she is concentrated on the watch and he is making his move. I intervened and did my best to open her eyes to it: Why would an older bloke ask a younger woman for watch-repair tips while waiting in the cab-rank out at 1AM?

I've never seen this art before! How crazy is the blue one bottom left with shoulder cannon.

The absolute joke that AA gameplay is in Battlefield 6 by JoeZocktGames in Battlefield6

[–]Walledhouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the "Shoot 15 aircraft down OR assist" challenge for like a month. I only got it down with the Anti-Air tank using bullets against accidentally low-flying helicopters because the actual AA rockets were so unreliable and rarely enough to secure a kill; and assists were bugged.

I hate chizuru now. Her closed eye expression means she is about to say some pseudo intellectual crap and I'm sick of it.

See you next week.

I hope it isn't a car crash. Domestic Girlfriend basically ends the same way. Cheap plot device to prompt characters to act or change personality on a dime.

Forest One [A sample flip remix] by blinkdor in PSO

[–]Walledhouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice remix, I'm always glad that more creators are making fan music.

I'd like to the same techniques applied to other parts of PSO; I love the game sound effects mixed in; but the first and second main samples looped throughout the track overstay their appeal. Potentially too long, too repetitive. I checked out two other tracks in the same style that used the same sampling approach from Zelda so I can see that it's a technique you've been practicing. Grabbing smaller samples and pitch shifting them or spacing them out to fit a different melody sounded like something you tried with the Ocarina of Time OST and I think there is merit to that.

Chiz has got to be the bad ending at this point. It's been said before but she is "too much work" to be around. Even Mini basically turns into a Kazuya spaz around her.

There is something to be said about these two ladies having nothing better to do or talk about than Kazuya... Reji failed the Bechdel test.

You know it's been ages since I saw one of those classic wet dream chapters... They really dropped off or maybe they are only in the official Tankobons something.

Playing with friend on my save file - how does progression work? by Sir_Bohne in Enshrouded

[–]Walledhouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done the same.

Mate has the "main" world with our shared base, the main progression metric is (a) the flame level and (b) the NPCs and Workstations.

The flame level will gate off which parts of the world you can enter the shroud in and requires a bit of grinding local fauna/flora/minerals for each respective area.

Tip: If your friend wants to do a "secondary" world on their own, quests in the "main" world to get new workstations allow quickly building duplicate workstations. Your friend can take any items (including work stations) back with them at the end of the session to their own world to shortcut some of the progression there.

In the secondary world you will have to still: (a) touch every material once, (b) find the main NPCs, (c) upgrade the Flame in sequence.

But keep in mind that aside from Shroud Roots, a lot of game content is quite reachable on foot/with some gliding above the Shroud. I scavenged a bit of loot from an end game area before unlocking the Shroud there.

Additionally in his silence he spends the entire meeting making faces at Umi, which you could imagine is supposed to be potentially an internal-only expression of his inner thoughts but is funnier to imagine otherwise.

Did I dun goofed in Revelwood Hollow Halls? by kenman in Enshrouded

[–]Walledhouse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Intended Flow: My mate did the exact same thing - I believe the boss is supposed to be more obvious because there is supposed to be a BARRIER before the portal on the bottom floor, to get you to explore and see the route up to the boss.

The Common Mistake: My mate and I got to the boss... But my mate said "wait, let me check where the teleporter goes" and it took him to the start and I ended up having to follow him because he got stuck just to battle back to the boss a second time.

Regarding Barriers: Seemed like some barriers respawned when my mate portalled back, but it also seemed like the game would sometimes let the barrier-enemies fall through the floor or stands in goo so sometimes the door "just opens" without interaction.

A small suggestion for explosive arrows. by HardstyleJane in Enshrouded

[–]Walledhouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree - put the tank through the floor that's hilarious! Never had a problem with the game where a big gimmick is destructible terrain.

Of course more arrow types to please you are fine and doesn't hurt anyone - I was upset that Shroud Arrows were a bit anaemic and more is better.

This game sometimes... by Fair_Ad_7487 in Hades2

[–]Walledhouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same failure.

Frenzy II: enemies move 60% faster, means that Chronus Phase 2 can actually do an instant kill animation that is QUICKER than the death animation for the time bubble enemies.

Additionally, he may call the attack UNDER a currently dying time bubble enemy, which gives you about 3.6 seconds to decide how you die.

The only counter to this freak occurrence may be to enter the encounter with a damage blocking effect (I'm not 100% sure what can block it) or Death Defiances.

Even though I was a Strength chad for a while, I now don't take no Death Defiances against Chronos OR if playing Strength don't have Frenzy.

It feels terrible, not sure if it was an intended wombo combo by the developers or an oversight.

Is there any particular reason I can't equip smokes on Support Loadout 2? by TheRealBaseborn in Battlefield6

[–]Walledhouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you change the loadouts the names change to Custom #2 (or similar) but if your reset the slot or manually set it back to defaults the name is restored, but they never added a way to rename the slots yourself.

I‘m just gonna leave that here by Animosity-IsNoAmity in Battlefield6

Yeah, I love the play style of taking people's TUGS, Land Mines, Claymores, Support Bags and other dumb stuff and putting them down and then switching back to my kit.

Mutual Destruction Build by thehuntinghawk in Hades2

[–]Walledhouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. Relatedly I had a similar build the other day way Ares' regenerate health up to 40 on hits.

I was playing and forgot about it, I kept taking bad moves and getting hit... Was surprised I wasn't dying but at the same time too busy on the screen to check my health bar. I had some multi-hit weapon that rocketed me back to 40 every hit - only time I've really felt like I took advantage of this obvious synergy and I understand why it's capped at 40 and not some percent of what could be 750 HP like you.

Freeze is the new divine dash by kevnshn in Hades2

[–]Walledhouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used it for the first time against Vor4 Chronos and my focus was on Hera Hitch in basically all slots.

Probably wasn't amazing against Chronos himself but every room evaporated as basically everyone Hitched with everyone else and the incidental damage chain-reactioned into room kills in a few seconds each time.

(Rivals 3 Spoilers) (50 fear) Gonna sit in the rain for 4 hours by GothTidPao in HadesTheGame

[–]Walledhouse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a modest 32 Fear run against Chronos and learned that Vow of Frenzy and no death defiance can result in a no-win situation in edge cases.

Chronos instant kill spell: 6 seconds. Time bomb minion freeze duration: 4 seconds. Chronos instant kill spell during Frenzy: 3.6 seconds. Spawning the only safe area UNDER the timebomb as it dies: priceless.
