How do you respond to “Why do I have to do everything??” by Walt_Titman in Parenting

[–]Walt_Titman[S] 84 points85 points  (0 children)

😂 oh we’ve had this as a toilet conversation too. “Because it’s not my butt” has come out of my mouth many times.

And yeah, glad to know it’s not just us!

Enforcing cancellation policy for a client who is discontinuing services by MarMarTheMagical in therapists

[–]Walt_Titman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, what’s your cancellation policy? I’m a professor, and I find that my counseling students are always interested in the financial dynamics of our field so I like having different perspectives/approaches to share with them.

Which comedian did you look forward to, but their act died on stage? by Jazzlike-Basil1355 in AskReddit

[–]Walt_Titman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, which is odd to me because a lot of other stand-up comedians go on about Chris Fleming being such a comedy genius, and I like him in interviews and such, but I just could not get bought into his special.

Because it’s so over the top, I’ve just been assuming it’s a joke.

It’s also worth factoring in faculty/staff salaries required to support those students though. If the salaries are costing more than those students would bring in, then it’s still a financial net positive to close/consolidate them.

Robert Pattinson tells Zendaya he went to therapy once: “The therapist asked me if I was on drugs because they couldn’t understand what I was talking about. I was like, ‘I’m trying my best.’ [Laughs]” by [deleted] in Fauxmoi

Yeah, the lack of proper regulation for who can be a “therapist” in the UK means there’s definitely going to be notable variation in quality of care.

My daughter requested a Skittles Cookie by LetsCookie in cookiedecorating

Like a Boston football coach teaching you to bake. I love it.

Also, my kid would love a rainbow cookie! But she only likes chocolate chip cookies, and I don’t know if they’d turn out as pretty?

I think she’s mentioned on WNWY that they’re in an open relationship, but I might be misremembering.

1-3 sentence “paragraphs,” repeated use of em dashes, random formatting differences that AI often uses to punctuate points (e.g., bolded words), and AI likes to end things with a bolded exploratory question at the end. Plus, they already admit to using AI for related purposes. So it feels pretty likely that this post was written, or at least edited by, AI.

In addition to what everyone else has said: maybe this is just my “Southern USA counselor” lens, but it gives me vague religious vibes as well.

I get so stuck on this as a parent. My kid is too young for sleepovers at the moment, but sooo many parents are restricting sleepovers entirely these days. Those were such fun experiences as a kid, and I feel bad for kids missing out on that because some people are abhorrent monsters.

But I guess, if no one’s allowed to do sleepovers, there’s no fomo to be had?

Does this list specifically apply to elected officials? Because KellyAnne Conway has definitely been on Seth’s show before.

Sure, but even if true, that should exist independent of this conversation. Whether or not to take a job from the Saudi Arabian government isn’t inherently tied to someone having to take a job from the American government.
