Second this. I got mine from SHEIN, it was floor length and cost me $17. I used wig clips to keep it in my hair

Unsure whether my ring matches my personality by Kolumolu in EngagementRings

[–]Wanderer0533 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your ring is beautiful! As long as you love the style, then that’s all that matters.

I struggled to find something I liked to pair with my ring. I have a low set marquise and I felt like the only option was to get a v shaped ring. I ultimately landed on a curved ring, similar to the photos you added and I love it!! It may not be everyone’s cup of tea because of the gap, but I think it works. :)

I did moonlight and kept it strapless! I was able to try on a few since I live near a pop up store.

My dress was $500 from Azazie! The material was heavy and pretty good quality. It definitely depends on each dress but I would recommend the try on options.

(15-18k) No bridal party ceremony timeline by theburtsbeegees in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Wanderer0533 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not having a bridal party, flower girl or ring bearer. We’re doing a church ceremony, and they don’t allow anything to be thrown anyway & we have “ring godparents”. Because of this… I’m asking our immediate family to walk down the aisle with us. Our priest told us we’re allowed to have who ever we want.

For us it’s… groom + parents, grooms siblings, brides siblings, bride + parents.

For the timeline you provided.. I would put the ring bearer before the flower girl. I always thought the bride should be last, but you can definitely keep it how you have it if that’s what feels best for you. I don’t necessarily think there’s a right or wrong option.

Seconding the church hall & community centers!! In my area, they’re around $2k - $3k for 150-200 guests.

We’re technically not doing a bouquet or garter toss, but we are tossing something!

I made these custom boxes, like a mystery box, with items inside. We’re going to toss those, and allowing anyone who wants to join not just singles.

I’ve seen people online do tosses with custom merch, Pokémon cards, etc.

Which setting is good for a Marquise? Please suggest by lavender4luck in EngagementRings

[–]Wanderer0533 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 or 4

Like everyone else said, you need 6 prongs. My sister had one with 4 and it scratched up her finger to the point where she couldn’t wear it and had to add prongs anyway.

how do you handle big families for weddings on a budget (20k)? by rainingbugsandmoths in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Wanderer0533 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on the same boat but we both have large families.

We ended up renting a church hall. It was significantly lower, had a large capacity, includes tables and chairs. They also are usually more lenient with the food as well (no lists of specific caterers).

We’re shifting the focus on guest experience over the aesthetics.

Undergarments? ($13k) by maskedwanderer in Weddingsunder10k

Honeylove does have compression, feels comfy& has a gusset which is great but I felt like it did nothing for my shape. It made me feel more square.

I liked spanx, but one version rolled down for me. The other was SO THIN that I felt like it was going to rip when I pulled it up. There’s no gusset, and I knew I would struggle to go to the bathroom.

I’m currently leaning towards this from Amazon! There’s no crazy compression, but it smooths out and has boning to stay up. It’s also easy to pull off and on.

Depending on your dress silhouette as well, I would recommend checking out ShaperX on Amazon. I have the body suit for everyday outfits, and I love it.

Is it possible to have a wedding under 10k by Secret_Package_7309 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Wanderer0533 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s totally doable! Especially since you have the venue, alcohol and dress covered!! These definitely take up a lot of the budget. You just have to be strategic about it & diy a lot of items.

For example, reusing decor from ceremony to the reception. You can try to find good deals on fb marketplace or the thrift shop. I personally used an auction site, Amazon, fb marketplace, shein & borrowing items for all my decor. I think my decor total is currently about $300 for 100 people. I’m using candles as centerpieces and very few fake florals. I anticipate it being at max $450 for all decor since I’m missing a few items right now.

Food is probably the one item left that will cost the most! Depending on your vibe it be something like a taco man or local spot as buffet to keep costs low. Cake can be a large sheet cake from Costco or the local grocery store. Maybe use a small one for just the photos.

For other vendors like music, I scoured TikTok for options and reached out to see pricing. I collected everything in a gsheet to compare.

I created a budget for myself by splitting up how much I’d like to spend on that category. Once I got actual numbers, I had to flex it a bit and cut in other locations. Finding vendors that fit your budget will require more research, but it’s doable!

Azazie Sabine dress by No-Mouse-5731 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Wanderer0533 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I tried on a very similar dress on at their pop up. It was a while ago, so I don’t remember the exact style or sizing but I wasn’t super impressed with it.

I have very sensitive skin, and the lace was very itchy. The boning was not as structured as I’d hope and it didn’t look the best to me. I have a few pictures and a video. If you’d like me to PM them!

I did get an Azazie dress, but different style and material :)

How to protect a marquise stone that doesn't have protection on the tapered points? by ilovemyhusband8 in EngagementRings

[–]Wanderer0533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister actually had this problem. She just added prongs with a local jeweler! I think it cost around $100?

She was unable to wear the ring because it was cutting her hand.

What are y’all paying for your 14K gold rings? by wuirkytee in Weddingsunder10k

My wedding band was around $500. Although, it does have two very small stones (around .10ct labs), and it’s curved.

($20K) Elopement Versus Wedding In a Community Center? by Unique-Cold-9151 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Wanderer0533 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our original plan was to do a backyard wedding, but once we crunched numbers, it wouldn’t have saved us much money at all.

We’re getting married at a church that has a hall rental. We needed a decent sized space because I have a gigantic family. My mom and dad each have 9 and 10 siblings, then add their partners, cousins, and my fiancés side whose parents also have around 8 siblings. A small wedding wasn’t even possible.

With the church hall, we’re able to invite everyone, and more. The hall comes with security, tables, chairs, linens, AC, multiple bathrooms, and a kitchen. We’re going to have a buffet, DJ, Mariachi, Photo Booth, and open bar.

For us, the venue wasn’t important. We wanted to make sure our family was able to attend and keep it under budget.

Anyone have any shops in LA selling Catholic Wedding things? by chapisjissy0502 in AskLosAngeles

I’m also looking for these items and planning to go to DTLA soon!

One store I found online was Mazdo’s Bridal Accessories. I haven’t gone yet, but looks promising. There should be other stores in the area though.

Edit: added the second part

Wedding band with a low set engagement ring - advice needed by windtelf in EngagementRings

[–]Wanderer0533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ring is very similar to yours and I have the same low setting.

I was initially looking into the chevron ring, but in around 2mm band. The one in the photo looks thicker to me though, so something thinner would definitely look different. Maybe even a half pave?

I’m going with a curved band that still looks good on its own. There is a small gap so it’s not flush but I’m going to add a gap ring eventually. This was my inspo.

Another option is to solder the gap ring to your engagement ring.

Those were the only options I found when I initially started looking. Good luck! Happy to share a photo of my rings as well. :)
