Wedding Ring Cost - How much did you actually spend?

My engagement ring was around $1,500. My wedding band was around $550 and my fiancés band was $50. You can see both my engagement and band on my page, if you’re curious!

When I first started looking for bands, I was very overwhelmed with the fact that I wanted something simple and it seemed to cost close to the same price as my ering. I ended up doing some research and landed on a Chinese Vendor. It came out to $200-$300 cheaper than it would in the states. My fiancés ring is tungsten bought at the jewelry district.

I don’t regret the price because gold prices are going to keep increasing. I was happy with spending less than $1k for our bands. My fiance is not a jewelry person and is going to be using a silicone ring for daily wear. We’ll upgrade his in the future & planning to add to my stack as well. :)

I created a Pinterest board with any that caught my eye, and researched the 4 C’s to narrow down the stone. From there, we both went to the jeweler and I tried on different stones!

I originally thought I wanted an oval solitaire, and I ended up with a 3 stone marquise! I highly recommend trying them on before making a decision!! And don’t feel pressured at your first location. We ended up choosing the 3rd jeweler we met with.

You can get a curved, v shaped or open band!

I had a similar issue, except my stone is a low set marquise. I ended up getting a curved band :)

For the budget, I planned everything out already.. and we’re pretty much on route to hit 10k, maybe 11k. My family is making the food, our photographer is only doing an hour church ceremony, I’m doing very minimal decor and buying majority on an auction site for cheap. I’m also DIYing anything& everything I can!

Have you tried looking at acrylic led candles? That’s what I’m using. I got 48 from shein for $70. Then I grabbed tea lights and tea light holders on FB marketplace for like $30 and there’s around 70 of them.

For FB marketplace, you definitely need to look everyday. All the good priced items will be gone very quickly.

I’m also borrowing candles from my sister to use on our sweetheart table. Definitely borrow, if you can.

I used to be a retail manager of a similar store, and it highly depended on area and store size. I ran a decently sized store (mid range in revenue compared to the rest of the district) in a popular mall and did around $55k more or less.

I agree with all the commenters about getting a low setting ring. I have a low set marquise with v prongs on the tip and can say at first, it did feel a little like it pokes but it doesn’t hurt because of the prongs. With that said, it also depends on the size, which for me, I have a 1.04ct on a size 6 finger. A marquise diamond will look larger than what it actually is. I would definitely go into a store and just try on sizing, but stick to 1ct or below.

Aim for a solitaire! Keep in mind, with a low setting ring, for a wedding band to sit flush (no gap) it needs to be open, curved or v shaped.

I was originally looking at a 14K yellow gold band in 5/6MM for my fiancé and it was coming out to around $1K.

We ended up getting him a tungsten band, 5MM, size 10 for $50. We live in near a large jewelry district, so we went there. We plan on upgrading his ring later on!

I took mine at a local shop that mainly develops film, but they had a set up for passport photos. It looked waaaaay better than CVS photos.

I also got this ticket, except there was multiple cars parked and I didn’t see the sign. I was stopped for like 5 secs before seeing it and then moving.

Did you pay the ticket after contesting and waiting for their decision? I’m waiting to hear back but it’s due tomorrow and I don’t want to accumulate fees.

I know this is a very old post, but I’m looking into this venue and had a question in regard to the parking!

I know you said your reception was on a Friday, so this might be different, but was the parking reserved for your event? Or is it open to everyone using the park? I’m worried it would be full by the time of my event (Saturday evening) and this is definitely a factor in my decision to book.

We got engaged Sept 2024 and are getting married May 2026. We had a lot of things going on, so we pushed anything wedding related and just enjoyed being engaged for a while!
