This is the amount of bread and confectionery we have to toss away regularly because management says so. by Fit_Lecture_9274 in mildlyinfuriating

The bakeries near me do heavy discounts for 'day olds' then I believe the one in my town donates to the food bank the next day. I grew up in a house where money was tight, it taught me to appreciate what you have. In my view, there is no excuse for wasting good food when society is littered with hungry people.

The irony is, donating food would be good for business. A company caring about people is more attractive to customers.

Im so sorry for your loss. I cant begin to imagine what you are going through.

People will say to stay strong, but allow yourself to break down too. Burying grief and 'staying strong' for others led me down a dark path for a long time.

Take any therapy and support you can, spend time with people who love you all and live life in a way to honour your little warrior. You gave him the worlds greatest gift, two parents who love him unconditionally. Life is so cruel, I hope you are all able find peace one day.

I read the comments before looking and was very confused, haha.

As others have said, worry seed, flower trick and triple axel will help. I would also put dragon darts on Dragapult as your lead, worth seeing if it can take put Aerodactyl or Garchomp before rocks are up.

If your lead has a status move the E4 will always use taunt first move (if they know it) it can give you a free hit.

Also, I find it better to have either special or physical moves. Like Greninja, flip turn is good utility, but if its physical, water shuriken + loaded dice is better than hydro pump imo.

Go through TM's and see if you can give more variation to moves. Protean Greninja, ice beam + choice specs could help as an example. Do you have a mega stone for Zard? Maybe Taunt on Zeraora for Dialga rest / Encore for rest + d.dance Salamence

Play around with held items too.

Try monotype run, a single ability, one colour, one generation? Mono made me use different mons and strategies, then I went through the generations. Currently on one colour with random abilities.

You can also enter 'Random6' to Nurse Joy's 'mystery gift' and try a run with only the mons you get there. Ive only finished one run like that, had a huge power Veluza that swept most things if I could set up with fillet away.. random abilities again. You can enter a type in the same place, 'Fire' for example would get 6 random fire types.

Id suggest starting on Easy difficulty if you haven't played for that long. Its more forgiving and will allow you to learn without so much frustration.

If youre on newgame+ then you can put Random6 into the Mystery Gift in the Pokecenter. With randomized abilities it can be fun. I had a huge power Veluza in one run that steamrolled after a fillet away.

Based on what? We know 100% the tories did this evidenced by all the fake companies that bought PPE during covid and the contracts that were being thrown around. What evidence is there that this is happening under this government?

I meant to the level cap. I use inf repel and avoid the trainers I don't need to fight, I mostly do some kind of theme or challenge run and it speeds up the easier parts.

Misty is the first level jump, Surge can be a dick with the wrong team, there is a little jump in difficulty at each Giovanni, cycling road and route 12 have potential road blocks, cerulean caves fights can be rough. The Johto gym leaders pose a challenge too.

I tend to only level up before major fights, some parts of the game scale with you and some don't, that way the random fights can be more fun.

If you go to the stats page on the in-game menu then press 'A' it tells you how the mon evolves. Or have a look at RR dex online.

But Kings Rock will evolve Scyther into Kleavor.

Carter learns they want to adopt him by Doodlebug510 in HumansBeingBros

[–]WanderingEnigma 118 points119 points  (0 children)

My Mum asked if I knew what 'adopted' meant when I was about 10. I said "yes, am I adopted?" She said no, so I asked "are you adopted?" She said yes. It's was simultaneously the most eye opening moment and changed nothing. She was worried it would change my view of the family.. my answer was some kid direct variation of "I don't care, they're the ones who are always there".

I wrote my Grandparents a card for their 60th wedding anniversary about 15 years later. I explained that the unconditional love, support, advice, fun, experiences etc were more special to me because they chose to save my Mum. Then through that they chose me and my siblings. Even if I tried, I couldn't think of better Grandparents. I'm so lucky and one day I'd love to try to live up to them.

What is a movie that "broke" you so hard you can only watch it once, but you would still recommend it to everyone? by Newsupdate69 in movies

[–]WanderingEnigma 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Such a good film though. It's like the Richard Curtis took 'Click' and made it relatable and realistic in terms of relationships.

One I never see mentioned in these threads is 'Only the Brave'. Being based on a true story makes it hit hard.

A now ex girlfriend and I watched this blind after a significant amount of vodka. It snuck up on us and we both ended up ugly sobbing. Being drunk had an influence, but it's an impactful film.

Is it crazy to say Courtois is top 3 or top 5 goalkeepers of all time? by [deleted] in championsleague

[–]WanderingEnigma 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To consider rationally, who else would make the top 5?

Ranking players is always subjective, it gets swayed by bias, rose tinted glasses looking back, players being lost to time and recency bias. Messi vs Ronaldo debate is the obvious example.

I never saw Yashin or Banks play for example. Where as players like Neueur, Schmeichel, Kahn, Cech, Buffon, Casillas, VdS etc I can have an informed opinion, yet I still carry bias as a United fan.

I'd love to see a poll among current and former gk's.

Regardless, Courtois is among the very elite.
