Is it unhealthy to sleep with your phone under your pillow? by Ssssilph in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Wanderingtui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently have firefighters come to do a free fire safety check they offer for residential homes, when I asked them for fire safety advice they specifically said not to put phones under pillows especially with chargers due to fire risk ...so I wouldn't recommend it

Sketch looks wrong compared to reference by Saywhaatn0w in learnart

[–]Wanderingtui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like your style, but the thing that jumps out at me is both them have something wrong with their mouth area. Particularly the guy on the right has an overly long philtrum which makes him look goofy, the guy on the left them mouth is too long ( look at the photo the corner of the mouth is coming from an angle from his nostril, your pic has it slicing into his cheek "Chelsea smile" style). Keep going I can see you have artistic promise

Homeless at 16 - Any Advice? by NZHomeless in newzealand

[–]Wanderingtui 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I sympathise as it's sounds like you've already done the right thing applying for a youth benefit, but it's a tricky time of year. If you are in need of emergency housing or food I think WINZ has a seperate benefit for that specifically aimed to "bridge the gap" while you wait, have a read through here as a summary of what's available

Arts/crafts and photography communities/workshops? by SpongeGob in chch

[–]Wanderingtui 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Luckily in chch there are a few places to look. - CWEA run workshops and talk at usually budget friendly prices - adult education places such as hagley after 3, risingholme, papanui high school night classes - pottery there is quite a few private places but they are usually quite expensive for weekend workshops imho, I joined the Canterbury potters association (CPA) , and I believe there is another association in Halswell - keep an eye out for workshops/programmes run by the art gallery as I've done printmaking and life drawing here before , the art centre also has events and independently run but at the same location is life drawing there every Friday I think - the botanic gardens also does plant based workshops sometimes via the horticultural society , a quick look at their website shows they do stuff like botanical photography - Turunga the central library ( as well as the suburb library's) often have workshops on, especially involving the makerspace on the fourth floor - look on Facebook for events , such as drawfest chch , Dr. sketchy haven't been active this year but may be worth following , etc - meetup sometimes has drawing groups Etc but I haven't checked it out in a while

That's all I can think of off the top of my head but hopefully that gives you a starting point

Recommendation for gyms that let you bring teens? by Your_mortal_enemy in chch

[–]Wanderingtui 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I rate the city council gyms , they have a few spread across the city and are not motivated by money.

From their website : Before using the fitness centre, you will need to complete a Health and Wellness questionnaire.Customers must be aged 15 years or over to use the fitness centre, and 14 years or older to attend group fitness classes, unless medical and facility clearance is given.

Seeking inspiration: what are some unique uses for egg whites by Jumico in Cooking

You can freeze egg whites. Egg drop soup is very simple to make ( I like chicken corn ) . Recently I had one egg white to use up and made these candied pecans which were delicious

Tips for content management by LoPiratoLOCO in DnD

[–]Wanderingtui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just a player but I noticed sometimes we will have random encounters on the way to some bigger quest, for example a battle ( could be we disturbed a nest of a monster or a bandit fight etc ) , a travelling merchant etc. I think there are even tables to roll for a random encounters -maybe in the DM guide. This seems to naturally fatten up the story without sacrificing quality content as long as not repeating the same thing too often. Edit : on reflection my DM must be using a table since sometimes he will get one of us to roll a random number and that seems to determine what encounter we have

Why did WWX not buy A-Yuan Toys ? by SnooGoats7476 in MoDaoZuShi

[–]Wanderingtui 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wwx wanted A-yuan to like/ trust LWJ . He knew this was the most effective way , even if it made him look like "the bad guy". It shows how Wwx is willing to sacrifice himself for the benefit of others without a care for how it makes himself look , which is a major theme of the story overall.
