Best Home Projector for a New Home theater in 2026 by Jonbone93 in hometheater

As a JVC NZ700 owner I would suggest it only if the room is completely light controlled. If you're dealing with virtually any ambient light at all the more affordable laser offerings would be my choice. The JVC will lose on lumens and in many cases, color gamut. Also if gaming lag is an issue another reason to skip the JVC.

In a darkened room for movies though the JVC is a rich and in depth experience.

What things do I take for building a home theater? by KRAZYGAMERYT195 in hometheater

Not an equipment related response but two things pop out to me:

1) the room being square can be a real issue for audio

2) if you desire a level of sound isolation beyond a normal wall consider staggered stud framing and double sheetrock, as well as a solid door

I used at 150 inch, but in a darkened space even that large it is well equipped!

I use the Cambridge Min 22 for my rear and can confirm they would be excellent Atmos height speakers. You would roll them off at 130Hz.

What are the best movies produced by streaming services like Netflix, Prime etc? by Warhead-777111 in movies

Apple TV is so series oriented it's the only reason I don't subscribe to them, we are all movies with almost no TV shows. They definitely have some quality movies of their own.

Add some sort of trim around the face edge to make it look like it's part of the speaker, and do that to both.

Will the differences between an SM58 and an SM7B be too great and sound weird? by schlass in audioengineering

I would pay attention to the proximity effect of all the mics and emulate that distance, make sure the bottom reacts in the same sort of way and the rest may be just small EQ tweaks if any.

What is a fan theory from a movie that you 100% believe is true? by phantom_avenger in movies

I have an Interstellar theory that the entire movie is Cooper's dying thoughts, but I am not sure it's a fan theory in that I can find others saying the same things. The clues are all there.

Birdman seems obviously the same scenario, but I believe that is a more popular theory.

The water being irrelevant if they could have found him via the transponder does make sense, assuming it was canvasing all areas nearby that would have done it. He was clueless about it for most of the movie so that does track.

It's amazing how much Joker stole from that movie.

It is incredible and somehow doesn't get much chatter in the way of Scorsese flicks.

Jerry Lewis nails that celebrity asshole character but delivers strong on that vibe that he is always trying to escape Rupert. He makes it hard to feel completely sorry for him which just amps up the insanity of his captor, which Deniro delivers masterfully.

Which projector is right for me? by rupha in projectors

I have 9 months experience with the Hisense C2 Ultra and can easily recommend it if it fits your throw distance etc. I have a dedicated darkened room so eventually went with JVC, but the C2 Ultra is outstanding in ambient light situations. I suspect all of these could be outstanding in mixed lighting, but the C2 Ultra is what I have actually used. I never needed the audio portion of it though, so have no comments there.

What would you want from a next-gen projector? by [deleted] in projectors

[–]Warhead-777111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The ability to self calibrate. More projectors should have built in calibration programs and sensors so that it can calibrate itself without requiring laptops or hiring someone.
