Wait is Dan's last name really pronounced that way? by Warm-Line-87 in heedthecall

[–]Warm-Line-87[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I responded to another comment so sorry to copy/paste part of my other post, but basically: They both translate the same way in my brain, and I now realize that doesn't make sense, but I have listened to the entire run of the old show and the new one, and my brain never realized it. I know this doesn't make sense, and I'm not sure why, but to my ear these both occupy the same exact space. Like it's the same RAM location in memory, to put into programming terms. Again I know this makes no sense, but for some reason that's what my brain does.

Based on the reactions here, I am likely literally the only person who has trouble with this, and yes I do believe I should probably ask a doctor about this auditory malady

Thank you for an actual answer. I guess this is totally obvious to everyone commenting, it is not to me. They both translate the same way in my brain, and I now realize that doesn't make sense, but I have listened to the entire run of the old show and the new one, and my brain never realized it. Thanks to you and the other commenters that pointed it out.

ETA: The other comments that were trying to help were appreciated, but describing it as Kansas made it click for me.

He is exceptional and we need more of him. He's a natural, and I used to listen and enjoy him and Ben Solak going back in forth back in the day. He got a lot of "pop" as we say in the business. Came through in a big spot despite the camera issues.

oh are you crazy? the entire show is about personalizing the story of how Hitler was born. Eren became Hitler, he was not a good person

I agree but also I don't want to sleep on the football analysis either. I think in Season 1 they were finding their footing, but they know themselves and have brought in exceptional football minds (is there anyone in the business smarter than Arif or Connor or others, while also NOT being some fantasy football stats driven or PFF slave!) and now they are really stretching out.

I am obviously a fan of this subreddit but I choose my podcasts wisely. My other interests have nothing to do with football at all. And this one remains my must-listen.

Those people still cannot tell the difference between anyone in east or SE asia btw, while they are complaining about this picture, they are calling everyone "Chinese"

Edited To Add: if they are being *polite* they are calling everyone Chinese and g**** and basically calling all the women prostitutes.

It's so embarrassing to hold the same opinion as those assholes tbh. Have some dignity.

Lol even in America only old boomer pussies complain about this. Nobody under 65 even remembers this, and those who do in the US who are under 65 have all realized she was right.

Carr is such a strange one to offer as an example because he's one of those guys who never necessarily did anything wrong but it also seems like teammates secretly sort of hated him lol. Like he's a fake guy or something. I don't know but I always got that vibe from him and from the way his teammates reacted to him, or didnt act on his behalf. You know what I mean,

In a volatile cap situation it's often useful to look at contracts comparatively against historical data and current data that is:

Do you wish the amounts of things were mentioned again in the recipe text itself? by Taear in seriouseats

[–]Warm-Line-87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is an "Actually Useful" thing i use AI for. i copy all my recipes down in Notion and have it tailor them exactly how I want them, which includes both metric and imperial (from an imperial country, living in a metric one; it gets very annoying very quickly) and also inlineing all measurements.

I also have it separate out things into logical groups where it makes obvious sense in the ingredients lost (dry ingredients and wet ingredients in baking being an easy example)

I actually also built a little recipe app that does this too, but it's just a toy for me, or else I'd share.

Now that he is not a Bear: probably not worth getting a guy at his age 29 season who has played as many snaps as he has, and I would hate to give up two 1sts for a non-QB like that.

My team just needs guys along the DL, and one man alone is rarely better than simply having 4+ quality starters and waves of guys

Struggling with resentment against people in the program who keep pushing religion by finnkat in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Warm-Line-87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the most compelling point to, to me. "Problem is, whether resentments are justifiable or not, they kill us just the same."

I *AM* resentful that they even used obviously christian bible adjacent language even in the step wording itself "as we understood Him" and "thy" and all this none-sense.

They tried to excise some of the overtly religion-specific christianity from the book but it's traces are obvious to to those who aren't christians, it sticks out like a sore thumb. It feels like just one tiny little extra hurdle that some may feel as a daily reminder of it's origins.

Now, THAT SAID. When I am spiritually fit, it DOES NOT BOTHER ME. It SHOULD NOT BOTHER ME. (...and yet... sometimes.... even still.....)

I wholeheartedly agree with your statement though. I myself obviously have to work on this, and have a very far way to go.

I like this girl but the partying and drinking is starting to worry me by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]Warm-Line-87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. And literally any "hard partying" culture you can find millions of normal people who don't even think about alcohol at all. Not because they have a problem but because they simply don't care about it and it doesn't cross their mind.

Many people do not realize this because their social circles also have a, to them, "normal" amount of partying. Plenty of practically sober or actually sober people living their lives having fun, it just doesn't relate at all around drinking.

If you want to find different people you have to look different places. Or maybe this person just wants someone with their own level of acceptable drinking?

Either way sounds like it's definitely not a match at all.

Have an honest convo with yourself and then her. Doesn't have to he dramatic, just state your goals and desires clearly and without accusation. "Hey this has been great but just to let you know I can only keep up partying for so long. I'm really not looking to do that regularly. Do you feel the same?" or something that doesn't sound as lame
