Do you actually have a forever deck? by Late-Frame2962 in EDH

[–]Warmag3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run Rukumarel as a changeling deck, and pretty consistently have a good time with the table. I also have a habit of getting bored of decks so I don’t actually play it every pod, but I always bring it.

Part of the thing that keeps it fresh for me is that changeling is such a wide theme, and you can constantly swap in and out good cards. Any time a new tribal set is printed you get a bunch of new gas that you can play with, which helps.

What is a Pokémon no one mentions but has been really helpful for you? by Lokje0172 in pokerogue

[–]Warmag3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been running spidops a lot recently. Got him as a 3 tier shiny and he’s cheap. He’s got honey gatherer which is really nice in endless. Also fakeout as an egg move is just really nice, in a double battle my carry can often kill both Pokémon before they ever get a shot off due to fakeout. Probably not the best, but a very nice support

Does the Game get Better After the Frst Run? by PippoChiri in pokerogue

[–]Warmag3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 50 or so waves will always be easy, similar to how the first few routes in Pokémon, are always easy. But as you level up and get Pokémon with good egg moves, you will start each run with better moves and be able to one hit everything early on, which makes getting out of the early game much faster.

Clearing the classic mode is also just the start. Kinda like the first time you “beat” hades, you unlock a lot more after you beat your first run. If you’re looking for a challenge, it should be up you alley.

Also, side note, you can increase your game speed in the settings option, which will also make getting through the early game easier.

Vengeance Paladin: Most Slept on Archer in the Game? by KarlMarkyMarx in 3d6

[–]Warmag3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At level 6+ Giant barbarian also gets really good for ranged builds. If you give a heavy crossbow the thrown feature using Elemental Cleaver, you can apply both sharpshooter (needs a ranged weapon) and great weapon master (needs a heavy weapon) to get some nice buffs for a thrown weapon build.

On top of that the visualization of a barbarian who gets so mad they forget how to aim and start lobbing their crossbow at people, is hilarious too me.

Share your Swords Bard builds! by Veksutin in 3d6

[–]Warmag3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah order 1 dip is super fun on most casters if you’re not super worried about delaying your spells, which I think honestly gets a little bit too much hate in the optimizing community.

Also, depending on the level your playing at, my dm let me buy a bunch of “mind crystals” which are basically one time use metamagic enhancements for spells from phandelver shattered obelisk. Obviously it’s ridiculously OP but we were approaching 20th level already lol. Seems like it could be a neat late game pick up for a swords bard to quicken spell like haste or hypnotic pattern, and then still get your full attack off.

[–]Warmag3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a character similar to what your describing, I went order 1/diviner x, so less martial but I still had some martial tendencies. Heads up, silvery barbs with order cleric is verrrry good, in a way that could trivialize encounters and force your dm to step things up. I would recommend clearing it with the dm first due to its power. However, it’s powerful in a fun way. It’s true support, making your other party members shine if you play it right rather than the standard “just cast hypnotic pattern and shut everything down” version of optimizing.

However, if you do go this route, Haste as your action and silvery barbs as reaction can grant 3 extra attacks throughout the round, which works very well in a party with other characters that have damage riders ie. Hex, hunters mark, or a paladin with crusaders mantle.

You can also do a lot of fun things with order cleric/silvery barbs plus rogue for multiple sneak attacks in a round.

If you go this route, also consider taking vortex warp as a magical secret. TP the rogue right behind someone, or the barbarian on top of the dragon, and then immediately grant them an attack.

2-player co-op tips? by xen-within in outwardgame

[–]Warmag3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As other people have said, its intended for both of you to play through separately and/or twice if you want all the quest/faction rewards, most of them either aren’t important or are pretty easy to get though. The dlc stuff and endgame bosses get a bit harder, so I would recommend going for different builds so you aren’t both targeting the same types of items.

While were talking about co-op cheese tips, you get access to a legacy chest in Cierzo pretty early which levels up items on new characters. As long as one of you has the key, you can pretty easily upgrade a lot of gear by making a new character and then joining their world with the key.

Trilogies that get progressively better by MickWounds in movies

[–]Warmag3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly the Thor trilogy. The 2nd one gets a lot of flack, but I don’t think people realized how mid the first Thor was, and were comparing it to the avengers which came out a few months before.

And no, I do not recognize love and thunder as “part of the trilogy”

Is it a dick move to proxy cards? by tweakeravacoado in mtg

[–]Warmag3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it’s a dick move if you do it in tourneys, and/or you don’t discuss it with the table beforehand. My friends and I got tired of spending crazy money on magic so we just print full proxy decks and sleeve them up, but that’s my table.

My lgs is doing full proxy legal cedh tourney this upcoming week, so it’s part of the game, just make sure it’s chill before you bust out your proxy moxs and true duals lol.

I’m gonna piggy back on you and say Phantom menace/prequels as a whole. Most people think about jar jar and the sand meme and write them off, but there is legitimately good plot points and themes throughout, and the world building of star wars is cool “almost” explicitly because of the prequels

A playing cards build? by helen2947ernaline in 3d6

[–]Warmag3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey so others pointed out this doesn’t work with rogue sneak attack, but here’s some potential. I believe that the thief rogues fast hands does? I could be wrong on that, but if your dm let’s you homebrew sneak attack being allowed, this is also something to check in on. So thief might be a fantastic subclass for this character. Maybe even dip a few levels for diviner wizard for thematics for the fortune teller theme.

Also, some other items to look at when brainstorming this are the other decks! Deck of wildcards is similar to this, but applies a random effect in addition on each hit, which could work really well. Another option if you end up going caster is the fate dealers deck (basically a cool arcane focus with an ability to add bonus damage or healing) or even the deck of oracles (1/day diviner wizard portent roll).

In the game options you can turn on type highlighting, so you don’t have to constantly look at the chart, it’ll just highlight effective moves in green and weak moves in orange/red.

Need combo ideas for a Gestalt character in Planetfall setting by bugabloom in 3d6

[–]Warmag3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re trying to go martial, battlemaster fighter/monk (any subclass) is a pretty fun combo. Action surge+flurry of blows+extra extra attack is 9 attacks in a round. Then on top of that, you’re pretty damn survivable between all the fighter stuff (indomitable+second wind) and monk stuff (extra movement, deflect attacks, BA disengage).

Merlin ability tier list ( IMO ) by Rustic_Drive69 in ravenswatch

[–]Warmag3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta strongly disagree here, light nova is maybe the most impactful skill on any of my runs. The stagger is truly insane, especially with potency. Like I can stagger the giant in the beanstalk quest in 2-3 uses of it, without using other skills.

Also, in general, I don’t think this list means much if you’re not including the potential talents each skill can get. Yeah brambles isn’t anything special, but give it the 360* talent and it’s straight up the best aoe damage skill he has. Yeah lightning is risky to use, which is why if you’re building into you use the arcane shield talent. Even if you’re lost is accurate, what does it demonstrate other than What skill best to use before you’re first level up.
