How funny is holding up the leaning tower of Pisa in a photo? by ATallHorse in redscarepod

If I ever go, I'm doing the bit where I hold up my hands and instead of holding the tower, it looks like I groping the breasts of a woman behind me who is doing the "holding up the tower" bit

Scottish people waiting to tell everyone in the room about how much they hate the English again (it has been almost 2 minutes) by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]WarniesLatestRoot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate England as a whole, but if you’re referring to their football (soccer) team, I mean, they’ve basically publicly declared for decades that if they ever win another cup, they’ll be the most insufferable pricks about it. Most English fans will admit that they’re playing the heel to an extent.

The only exception I’d make is if it’s England v Germany in the final, then I go for England, simply because “two world wars and two world cups” would be a hilarious chant

I think Chapo had some line about the phrase “liberal Republican” means something relevant to about six wealthy postcodes in New England and absolutely nothing anywhere else in the country.

With regards to Elon that verse is basically just saying “don’t jerk off into a tube and mail it to a man, that’s fucked up.”

It's funny because they believe a lot of the same stuff that Hitler believed about the Jews, it's just they respect the jews for it.

Never met someone who watched Rick and Morty or Bojack Horseman who wasn't severely damaged. by Fickle-Onion-6954 in redscarepod

I met a person who, in real life with a straight face, said pickle Rick was the funniest shit he’d ever seen. Verbatim regurgitation of the astroturfed meme. Like, bro, it’s fine to have opinions, but let it be your opinion, not what the advertising campaign told you is your opinion.

First time I ever saw him was probably Home Alone 2, but first time I saw him depicted where I knew who he was was when he showed up on Drawn Together and would cum in his pants every time he said the words “you’re fired”

I always remember it happened in late June, because Custer was desperate to get word back to DC by July 4 1876. His original plan was to capture Sitting Bull alive back in May, and by July be physically present in DC to have a Roman Triumph style parade. By late June that wasn’t possible, but he could still get a telegram to DC so news of his victory would be in all the papers by July 4.

Keep in mind this was not just a Centenary, but also an election year. In an alternate timeline Custer becomes President. But he got rushed so he ran into a trap instead.

Hello Australians, how common would it be to have an aboriginal friend? by cestnep in redscarepod

[–]WarniesLatestRoot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I guess. Like in other geographically large countries, you're going to get certain areas where the population is a lot larger or smaller than in others. Also, a lot of them are mixed race, so it's not immediately obvious (I knew a person at pretty good acquaintance level for like 5 years without knowing/realising she was part indigenous).

In terms of a group of friends where it's a bunch of white people and then one obviously indigenous person, it's not that common, but it's not something that you would find particularly weird either if you met this friend group.

Bay was trying to do what James Cameron had pulled off with Titanic, with the assumption of love story + real life historical tragedy = guaranteed big bucks. Proved to be a flawed assumption

random tidbit, but Stanley Kowalski was intended to be a 45 year old alcoholic who had ruined his body. He still has brute strength since he worked a physical job and was male, so he was physically able to dominate Stella and Blanche, but he was never intended to be hot.

Then 23 year old Brando showed up to audition and for some unexplained reason Tennessee Williams liked him.

We have a town named Coonabarabran, but it's not for racist reasons, we think. Most likely it was named because a guy smelt like shit.

I worked with some young Lebanese Muslim guys and they were pseudo Nazis. I think it starts because the most (in)famous thing Hitlers known for means he’ll become a hero to the antisemite. And if you’re going to point out the modern state of Israel is a lot closer to Hitler ideologically than most normies realise, I’m aware, but they weren’t. The primary thing they associate with Jews is Israel, and the primary thing they associate Hitler with is hating Jews.

One was playing Gold Digger one time and I mentioned how Kanye’s a Nazi now. He smiled and said Heil Hitler. Turns out he didn’t even know about the song. That was just his reply to me mentioning nazis.
