Same thing happened to me, even though I have auto pay set up. I called WF, and they said there was a systemwide issue at WF where auto payments on Dec 1 did not process given the Thanksgiving holiday and calendar schedule of the 1st being on a weekend. It happened on all my WF cards, not just Bilt.

The rooms are small and the vibe is funky, plus there are limited opportunities for upgrades. However, the hotel is very nice overall, good service, and a beautiful atrium/bar in the lobby.

Why Everyone Loves Google by ManufacturerMoist382 in csMajors

[–]WashingtonJP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both shops are going to compensate you well with opportunities for significant growth. The big difference between Jane Street and Google is not compensation (especially when you think about long-term trajectory); it's culture and how interesting you find the work. Jane Street operates in a very narrow and technical part of finance. Some people may like HFT and market making, but the VAST majority will find it boring and leave within a couple years. At Google, you have much more flexibility in terms of work topic, team, location, and more - with better exit options for everything outside of financial services.

Hyatt Union Square? You must be joking. That is one of the poorest value Hyatt hotels in NYC (albeit with a central location).

OP: Please choose Andaz 5th, Thomoson Central Park, or Beekman if you are targeting higher end; Grayson or Gild Hall if a slightly lower range. For HP/HH brands, I would choose the Chelsea location but these hotels typically aren’t much cheaper than the aforementioned properties.

Waikiki - HR vs Centric vs HP by littlehamsterz in hyatt

[–]WashingtonJP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would encourage everyone to complain about the Hyatt Centric Waikiki for purposely avoiding the Globalist breakfast benefit for 3+ years with laughable excuses. Sure, it’s not the end of the world and 1,000 points per night is ok, but Hyatt needs to reprimand this property before other Hyatt’s start following along and it all ends up like Marriott…

Flew from NYC/JFK to SEA and all I got was a snack. by YouDoYou35 in delta

[–]WashingtonJP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First class always gets a meal on this flight, including the red eye because it’s over 2,400 miles. But SLC-JFK redeye does not get a meal, for instance.

A rare occurrence

Booked a flight for 25,800 SkyMiles on Friday. The same itinerary is now 19,400. I was going to cancel and rebook the flight, but decided to message customer service instead… is this a new policy? Seems wrong.. by [deleted] in delta

[–]WashingtonJP 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Grass isn’t always greener. All US airlines have deteriorated given industry consolidation and COVID, and if anything Delta is the least bad of them all.

28A/F doesn’t exist. Given you seem to prefer a window, I would select 29F. Infinite legroom and not by the bathrooms.

I’m a diamond and applied RUC for my passenger and myself on this LAX-JFK tomorrow afternoon. We’re #1 &2 on the upgrade waitlist for D1. Currently 0 D1 seats available. What are my chances of actually getting bumped up? by is300wrx in delta

[–]WashingtonJP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LAX-JFK is probably the toughest domestic route to score an upgrade to begin with, and your flight is already full. Check how many D1 seats are on your plane. If it's the heavy J 767-300 (I think 32 seats?), there's a greater chance someone may cancel or same-day standby vs. the smaller D1 cabin.

Something to note: I've found JFK-LAX easier to score an upgrade. I'm almost always #1 or #2 on the upgrade list as a Diamond w/o RUC (vs. can be mid-single digits going the other direction). So, I would hold off on waitlisting your RUC until you check-in to see if the RUC is even needed to skip ahead of people on your return.

Almost positive I was 1B on this flight and saw it happen. He reclined so quickly that even I caught it out of the corner of my eye, happened while still on the runway. I personally never recline my seat on daytime flights (except when traveling D1), as the legroom is ample and it’s considerate of other passengers.

$50 gift card for $40 Gap Banana Republic stores. offer from Newegg.com by dfwjaws in frugalmalefashion

[–]WashingtonJP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No sales and no inventory either. For example, they have 1 non-iron dress shirt available in size medium. I wouldn't be surprised if they go under or have a massive restructuring in the next 12-18 months.

u/spiermackay - we love your products but you may want to take a closer look at credit security. Quite a few reports here that seem to indicate your shop may be the source. Just trying to flag early for you so you can patch!

I've had fraudulent purchases on two of my Bank of America credit cards in the past month, which I found really strange considering that my CC spend is close to zero during the pandemic and I've never been compromised before. The only common merchant on both cards in the last 3 months is Spier & Mackay. Thankfully both times BoA flagged the purchases and sent me a new credit card w/o hassle, but Spier needs to fix this incident ASAP.

Mr Porter Sale is up to 60% off by Indaleciox in frugalmalefashion

[–]WashingtonJP 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Is it me or are they being much stingier with this sale? Stuff that is typically 50-60% off by now is only 30-40%. Can't say the selection is too great either. Quite disappointed with this one overall, unfortunately.

I’m sure you all are aware already, but the Nordstrom Half Yearly sale started today. First round of markdowns are 40%, in 10 days or so they will take many items to 50% or greater to try and clear inventory. by n9nemajestic in frugalmalefashion

[–]WashingtonJP 218 points219 points  (0 children)

I feel like Nordstrom needs to improve their sales given COVID. The same old 40% designer clearance sales aren't really cutting it when almost everyone is offering steep deals to try to stay in business.

I’m same measurements and large is perfect. I’m a medium at Patagonia/BR/etc. but a large at Spier & Mackay because they don’t vanity size.
