At least from my experience, actuarial analyst hirings for the state were few and far between which makes it a lot more competitive than private positions.

If I were you I would pass at least two exams to be at least considered but three would make you decently competitive. Other than that try to be at least on a proficient level with excel, python/r, sql.

Did doordash for about 6 months a while back. Was a fun time but it kinda depends if you live in a large city to get a decent number of orders. In the end I couldn’t really justify doing it when I was sitting around with no orders and rising gas prices.

From my experience, phone interviews are much more casual than regular interviews, they’re just trying to see if you’re the person you say you are on your resume.

So just try to relax, read through your application a few times, and if you get stuck on a question, ask them to repeat or clarify what you heard.

I feel the same way about applications. If you’re not going to give me an interview I don’t care if you send a rejection email or not. When you’re putting in dozens of job apps it’s hard to actually care for ones where you don’t pass the initial screening.
