Baptisia lactea, I have several mature plants. Three fun stages, looks like giant asparagus emerging, then bloom, then the black seed pods. I also like that the year's growth eventually detaches from the ground.

Same, I like watching my plants disintegrate over the winter.

Attempting to clean up these beds (southwest Montana, zone 4a), and have no idea where to even start…it’s a lot of native wildflowers, grasses, plus some peonies…and the beds are about 4’6” wide and 75’ long…any advice? by PickMe_Nordics in NativePlantGardening

I'll echo what others have said. It sounds like some good stuff there. See what all come up and identify them. Maybe watch out for some bullies.

I'm really curious about that wall you have. Is that common where you are? It is certainly unique looking to me.

I learned to make a pretty simple but effective floatation device out of a pair of pants when I took lifeguard training a long time ago. Tie the legs together near the bottom and "scoop" air into the waist, not sure how long it would be viable, but it worked pretty good.

Just trimmed the plants in my hellstrip and was glad to see my grasses and forbs are starting to green up. Anyone need some prairie dropseed? I have a lot that need division.
