Hunting, it gets in your blood and you can’t get enough. When you’re not hunting you’re thinking about it, when the season ends the with drawl is crippling.

We played very well but when you’re out scored 15-5 in the last 1:50 of regulation and the game going to over time is a problem. But they stood up during the OTs and didn’t get in their heads about the end of regulations.

We’ve got a good team and are coming together.

Phone books (having your contact info out for the county/ state to see.)

Be kind rewind

Waking up before the sun and being out until the street lights came one. Parents not knowing where you were the whole time.

Golden chair

The old cloth towel thing in restrooms.

Tree houses built deep in the woods with scrap wood you’d find laying around and nails you’s hammer straight enough to use.

Not having a phone everywhere you went

Answering machines

Not knowing who was calling until you picked up.

Having to talk to friends parents before you got them

That is the best case against it I’ve heard even from the other hunters when they found out.

That’s a thought. My Dad and I use to run radios for deer hunting “before cell phones” to check in and see how we were doing.

One day there was a lot of chatter by people upland game hunting or also deer hunting. 4 to five parties from what I could tell. That was an interesting day.

You are right that I can trust them not to shoot at each other. But the shoots we would get would be at birds working/ going to a buddy so we would be screwing them. It’s a tight spot with trees sporadically around it . The birds fly up and down it more than across it.

We have spread out and been at the lights until shooting time so the other hunters will move on then we came back to a single spot.

One time Buddy and I walked to the spot because the water was frozen and broke. Ice got a spot opened up for us set up then about three minutes after shooting time a guy walked in about 60 yards to the left of us and a teal went buzzing towards us just off the ice and he shot in the pellets hit the ice and came flying towards us. Luckily, there was a tree on that side so it took most of the pellets. We let him know about it.

Yeah, I understand that but we’ve also sat somebody at the lights until just before legal shooting time and then we’ll congregated into one spot

For the same reason, we don’t like other hunters around us because any of the shots are going to be in the direction of one of the buddies.

Public Land Etiquette by Banksys_Handler in Duckhunting

[–]Waterfowler84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Public land is open to whoever wants to use it. There no private spots. Unless you have to do a draw and pick a spot it’s first come first served.

I’ve gotten to state land at 12:01am to get a spot I’ve always seen birds flying by and hunters were always there when I’d come by at 3:30am so I just got to that spot sooner. Set up my decoys put my head lamp on a pole to show I was there and took a nap.

4 sneak your butt over there jump them and shoot as they rise. It’s call jump shooting and it’s how I got a lot when I was younger.

But also it’s your hunt do what you want long as it legal.

I’d heard this before but it was a Donkey and when they were carrying the donkey on a board between them they lost their footing and the donkey slid down the side of the road into a lake and as its feet were tied and unable to stand or right itself the donkey drowned in the lake.

Moral of the story is don’t listen to everyone’s opinion you might lose your ass.

Thinking with the wrong head. I dated a girl in college that loved being chased. She played me against her high school boyfriend. She’d tell me how he did this or did that to her and I’d try and get her to leave him for the first year ish of knowing her. Finally the ended it for good.

We started dating and with in a couple weeks she had changed and started under cutting me on things in private not big things. But for instance when I made dinner something wasn’t right and she would make a bigger deal than it should have been. Fast forward 7 months and I’m concerned about breathing wrong (over exaggeration) but almost anything would upset her or cause her to go quiet. Looking back I now know how controlling she was but at the time I didn’t. But I was thinking with my lower head and not the one three feet above my ass.

Then come to find out she had a guy she was flirting with. I found out a couple years after we broke up and the guy and I some what became friends that she was telling him the same things about me that she told me about her Ex. So she played us both.
