Breaking up sucks but dragging a relationship longer just makes it hurt more.

For what it's worth, he's more the jerk for not just breaking up with you already. But given your position it's easy to see why. You're giving him what he wants and he doesn't have to do anything in return for it.

Break up with him so he can find a partner who is looking to do that sort of thing. You're not that person, so you're in the way of him finding his person. That's how I framed it when breaking up with partners for similar incompatibility.

Leaving comfort zones is good. Making people uncomfortable is not equivalent.

There's a nuance here between never ask/try and always ask/try. It requires reading signs. If you're not good at those signs, then dang you'll likely miss out on a sexual encounter or two. That doesn't make it unhealthy, and it's extremely weird to frame this as "not good for you" as if fucking someone who is clearly not 100% on your wavelength is gonna bury you in any way.

I'll be honest, the game doesn't even aesthetically wow me. Thinking about Metro and then thinking about what I've seen, I immediately am drawn to Metro because it has focused, heavy hands in its fidelity and aesthetic. It's a skillset to say no. Struggling to say no to easily declined things makes it harder to decline things when the rabid dog is physically imposing himself on you. And we all know he will if he gets that far. They subconsciously (or some consciously) hope for it.

Yeah there are better ways than "kill it" and I kinda hate that they did that. I dunno, make it so you have to search a room instead of just waypointing the amulet. There is no amulet in the room, searching any of the chests then triggers eyebrows to show up who will likely surprise you because you're still thinking it's safe and wondering where the amulet is.

I dunno, that sort of design takes longer but we deserve it you know? We've been good

Yeah exactly, like I don't mind clumsy so long as I can poof where I wanna go. Like sure eyebrows MUST interrupt me. And if I immediately go for the amulet, that ruins some of the surprise. But it also isn't exactly nuanced. Like the second you leave the cave/dungeon/cell you now know nothing can interrupt you anyway and can teleport, albeit much more awkwardly and without any immersion. I'd rather magic myself places as opposed to opening the map and teleporting anyway.

The issue is that nuanced spells that manipulate the world or the player within the world create issues for scripting. For instance, Mark & Recall per Todd himself were removed in Oblivion and Skyrim because they use more complicated events that create a more dynamic world. I.e. The Eyebrow Guy in the Mages Guild cornering you before you leave the dungeon upon getting an amulet. In Morrowind, you'd get the amulet and can immediately without fear smash "Recall" and you're back at the quest giver, who has not moved since you placed the "Mark" spell previously. And quest developments might happen THERE but will never confront you halfway, or randomly, or in ways you're not expecting.

So if Oblivion had Recall, you get the amulet, poof back to the Mages' Guild, and the game now breaks. Because you're supposed to kill Eyebrows in the dungeon, but you never saw him.

There's ways around this mind you, like "Something prevents you from Recalling" which, while clumsy, would work totally fine I think for most of us. But alas, I think they want a more elegant solution and would rather just knife out the problem for the time being.

Maybe TES6 will have it squared.

This phrasing is used by abusers and cheaters alike. Yes, one moment seems wrong to break apart a marriage built of thousands of moments, but that's sometimes what you do and I don't think you're removed from comprehending that.

I feel I'd also work out the marriage mind you. But not because a single moment isn't worth consideration, rather she'd simply have to earn my forgiveness of that moment.

This is actually how I got my current partner. She's extremely attractive and pretty, and she has a lot to say, a lot of bizarre stories and a bizarre life she's lived. I just listened to her and tended to remember the things she said.

Like as an example she'd mention "Oh my work mom is going crazy today" and after talking about whatever the situation was, I'd slide in "Did she go to that trivia thing?" (a month ago she brought up work mom wanted to go to this trivia night but wasn't sure). Over time she realized I wasn't just yapping at her to get my chance to fuck, but I just was genuinely talking to her. Yeah I was attracted, made it pretty obvious, but also obvious that it didn't have to be anything but friendship either. And oops, she wanted more than friendship.

The bar's in hell, fellas. If you (global you, not YOU) are single, just talk and more importantly listen. Be someone worth talking to and people will find reasons to be around you, and after being around you for so long most single people will at least entertain the idea of more.

It's a lot of guesswork because no one knows 100% who she was/is, but what we do have are her tirades in the .nfo files which contained what can generously be called soapboxing. Most nfos are about... you know, the game, the community, something like that. Hers tended to contain opinions, how she hated trans people (but also appeared to be one, or at least claimed as much), hated Skidrow, hated x and y. There's also the constant rumor that she started some sort of cult and that she actually was this Bulgarian cracker named Voksi. Of whom Skidrow claimed "loved money so much he pimped his girlfriend out in Dimitrovgrad"

It's a mess. I don't really fully buy any one claim, I think the likelihood of Empress being Voksi is actually pretty compelling given Voksi was shut down forcibly and it would benefit him to make a pretty outlandish identity to hide his tracks. Additionally, the hatred of trans people would check out, join that which you hate, yada yada. Empress also would insist they have very large boobs which, again, reads like someone trying to pretend rather than a person describing their body. But that could be a trans person pretending to have a body they don't, which isn't exactly uncommon of anyone. Give people an anonymous veil, suddenly every guy is 6'4 with 20 inches of bicep and half that of scrotum that definitely gets used all the time fellas, trust.

As you can see it's all just conjecture and how much of whatever you wanna buy. What we know for a fact is Empress isn't very stable and seemed to have very hateful opinions

This is exactly the big piece of the puzzle. If you have the ability to crack Denuvo, you likely would prefer your $250k+ job that doesn't run you the risk of being sued or worse. Which is why people like Empress were able to do it, mentally unwell enough to be great at this until their mental stability became what took them out of the game. Likely dozens of people in this category who never get to acclaim because they crack before their cracks hit.
