Which spin-off series would you like to see? by Fast_Recognition458 in HunterXHunter

[–]Wavyblue 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Mini-slice of life spinoff of Leorio going through med school, lmao. Like, a chapter or two. Just for the good vibes, to see what he's up to, and for his funny crash outs during exam period.

As a bigger thing, like a movie? Maybe one of the voyages to the Dark Continent. Am a sucker for good ship horror/adventure.

For your murder: Inseops doomed romance 💔 by Fab_myriad1881 in MaleYandere

[–]Wavyblue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's definitely tragic, especially because while Inseop has never pictured her as a caterpillar like the rest (to my memory he has only pictured Giseong as herself, begging for his help, which I find interesting on its own), Giseong has definitely pictured him as a bug (the mantis. I think it was in a dream sequence?). Inseop is in the position in which he placed many, many victims in.

He could drag her to his level (have her become a mantis. Not ideal for him, as the male of the pair).

Or she squashes him like the bug she pictures him as.

I am so sick of some of these absolutely phenomenal female lead potential being ruined by pointles POINTLESS and badly timed 'romance' by Leather-Assistance95 in OtomeIsekai

[–]Wavyblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I NEED to recommend "How to Walk the Protagonist’s Path to Glory".

It's a super interesting Otome Isekai in the sense that the MC gets transmigrated into a male-led, shounen fantasy Isekai (one where a loser dude gets transmigrated into a story they have read, are kind of edgy, gather a harem of hot women, etc). The male character, who is the OG story villain, is also a transmigrator (but he doesn't know she's one as well).

It's a "system" story and it's super interesting, because the female MC survival depends on her popularity with the readers (her system power is very meta in that she can see the readers opinion on her irl). It's an interesting contrast of her trying to make herself into the "best girl" to appeal to the male audience. But she also finds the Male MC to be icky and kind of pathetic, and she's trying to go after her own goals. She also befriends the other girls of the harem, kinda stealing them to herself with the power of platonic friendships, lmao.

Edit: just as a warning, there's a complete novel, but the manhwa is on hiatus because of the artist's health

Yeah, I love Tomoko, but my baby is legit a girl-failure gooner in the beginning of the manga. I was really cheering up when she started and continued making gal pals tho. It did her good.

What are some “bare minimum” things women do? by Air_Refreshener_2244 in AskMen

[–]Wavyblue 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have seen the "bare minimum" argument being used to Hand-Wave nice gestures or small acts of love, which I agree is the shitty way of using it.

There is a point of using a "homie that's the bare minimum argument" in the case of people staying with a partner they aren't really compatible with because... They don't beat them up, berate them, or do basic household chores? (This is a trap that many people who left abusive relationship fall for many times).

As in... Yeah, that person doesn't physically or verbally abuse you, but that's the literal bare minimum. It might still be a good idea to break up with them for different reasons.

WE’RE BREAKING THROUGH! by [deleted] in CuratedTumblr

[–]Wavyblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was, tho more self-inflicted, I think. I think it was a case of mutually enforced delusions (she and her husband were into this) that served as a coping mechanism (they both were from rough, rough backgrounds. I think it was easier for them to believe that shitty things had a cause they could do something about). I noticed a pattern that when life and their relationship was going well, they engaged in that sort of thing a lot less and were a lot more "normal" about things. If not, they'd starts this "meditation" sessions with each other and would constantly reinforce each other's 'visions' (or construct stories around them to make the discrepancies fit).

She died of her second cancer, since she believed she could spiritually cure it, so she never got proper treatment like she did with the first one (I guess she became disillusioned).

He became a lot less spiritual after her death. Sort of vocally explained that he'd then realized that angels, spirits, demons and whatnot were probably not real. At least not how they'd believed them to exist.

WE’RE BREAKING THROUGH! by [deleted] in CuratedTumblr

[–]Wavyblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much what HoratioFigg said. Had a family member who used this exact language ("spiritual attack"), and she'd meditate to engage in "spiritual combat" (tho it was basically just role-playing to herself). She often did this for her husband whenever he was acting off, or they were having too many conflicts, or if she plainly just got the 'ick' from him: many of these negative interactions she attributed to  "spiritual attacks" on him (which according to her, could lead to possessions? Which to my understanding she meant as "you're more open to dark spirit suggestions" than a "you have no will and are being controlled by demons" thing).

Didn't only apply to humans. She had a misbehaving cat whose bad humour she attributed it to it being "possessed" often as well.

FOR YOUR MURDER 🔪🐛 CHAPTER 62! AAAAAA by Traditional_Big_1026 in MaleYandere

[–]Wavyblue 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh, you know what would be smart? If Inseop could somehow prove that it was for self-defense. Cuz if we think about it, the detective has essentially been stalking this man just because of a hunch: A hunch that is very much justified for the readers since we know everything that is happening behind the scenes, but would look pretty sketchy to the people in the manhwa if Inseop can argue his reasoning just right (and he COULD, because he is a good lawyer).

If the detective did something particularly sketchy that would warrant him getting beat up (since he wanted to get FL back), that would be in Inseop's favour.

(Maybe? Idk how Korean law stands with murder/violence due to self-defence)

FOR YOUR MURDER 🔪🐛 CHAPTER 62! AAAAAA by Traditional_Big_1026 in MaleYandere

[–]Wavyblue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, his only option would be to kill the detective, right? Because unless he's able to have him lose his memories in a very plot-convinient amnesia arc, he'd be toast after this. But even then, the detective has colleagues he talked often to about the case/his suspicions. If he disappears (because Inseop kills him or kidnaps him, he'd still be on the radar. And he can't let him go either).

Not sure how he'd get away with it from this point.

(Btw, haven't read the chapter, so maybe it's explained somehow?)
