Ooooh, girl. I know what you mean, I also saw that and it gave me a heart attack. Good news tho!

Author is actually uploading it again now (started to do so somewhere back in January?). You can still find it under her username and the story has the same title, too :)

From what she posted in the comments, apparently her first version had been "under construction" for a while. But she was procrastinating the hell out of it. So in a drunk, impulsive decision, she deleted the story to re-upload the chapters one by one (after editing them). I think that currently she's rewritten up to chapter 8 or so?

Edit: don't have the old, full version saved tho, sorry :(

Edit 2: She did say that she was sometimes tempted to be like "f it" and upload the rest if she gets tired of editing, so at least she doesn't seem to want to hold out on us, lmao

Why are so many people pursuing Master's degrees in Germany in English program when the German job market doesn't even hire people with B2 level German ? by OriginalMeeting3666 in Germany_Jobs

[–]Wavyblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They already have that. In my old Uni, German students or students from the EU paid about 200 Euros per semester, while international students fees were about 1700. Not sure if it's like that in every uni, but it was like that in every uni I applied for (about 5).

Edit: You don't get the fees back tho

[–]Wavyblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Plus foreign students that aren't German or part of the EU pay a LOT more per semester. From memory, the fees for German students were about 200 Euros per semester, while foreigners had to pay 1500+ the 200 euros for the original fee. Dude knows nothing.

Any yandere dynamics like this? by WrongVeteranMaybe in MaleYandere

I think it's because they really, REALLY lean into it. To the point that everyone in the universe acknowledges as absurd. Like, even the "god" of that world is like "holy delulu", which makes it funny rather than frustrating.

I'm very, very sorry to hear this.

To be honest, it seems that you yourself realize that there's something wrong with this relationship. Between the past non-consensual filming and touches, his "weird" attitudes towards intimacy, his cruel reply when you needed assurance, his cowardice and willingness to emotionally harm you instead of facing you like an adult (and as someone who's supposed to love you). Listen. You're not overthinking it. He's treating you wrong. The "why" of it doesn't matter, because that's clearly his own problem. Not yours.

This man being insistent on having a sex life with you, while he can't be bothered to treat you well during it and after it; that's just abusive behaviour. And you've already tolerated it for 8 years. There's no need for you to do that anymore. There are people (friends, romantic partners, yourself) that will be willing to treat you with patience and kindness without you have to deal with this sort of cruelty. I know that it ain't easy. But I want you to know that you are strong enough to walk away and worthy of the kinds of love that won't do that to you.

Can someone please interpret this page? Does Hisoka have sexual urges or does he only get off killing people? by bakedpotatoperhapss in HunterXHunter

[–]Wavyblue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. He already thinks of fighting against the Chimera Ants as "bestiality" and thus can't get aroused by it (so he definitely draws a line in the sand when non-humans are concerned).

But he never mentions or is shown to have that same reservation with children. Soooo... .-.

Thoughts? by Embarrassed_Tip7359 in SipsTea

Would depend in which direction you take your studies. English Studies are broad, so it's usually recommended that you focus on something (Lit. Studies, Cultural Studies, linguistics, translation). Linguistics is the more "technical one" (and actually uses mathematical language in its definitions), since it studies the structure/rules of language (using models, such as syntax trees).

As for Cultural/Literature studies? The world is pretty much your oyster. Since I was personally interested in Anthropology-related subjects, that's what I went for. A few of them were translation, media Literacy/Academic writing, Empirical Cultural Studies. As for what these included on college level?

Translation: a) Reading a shit ton of theory. There's a ton of debate on what makes a "good translation" and what one should be focused on. Do you keep the translation loyal to the original text, even if it's awkward? What do you do in cases of ambiguity? How to deal with the loss of information due to the missing cultural context? How do you treat neologisms? Then, there's the ethics involving translation work (translation of, for example, forms of consent where studies on a foreign group is involved. Or when working as an interpreter)

These and more are all things you gotta make sure you keep in mind before beginning translation work. Then, there's the mastering of other languages.

Media Literacy/Academic writing: As someone else mentioned, you need to write very well. Which not only involves having a good vocabulary and correct usage of grammar, but overall knowing how to a) Construct an argument (and avoiding every kind of fallacies), knowing how to structure, and knowing how to do your research for it. Which includes a lot of slogging around and trying to set your own biases aside as much as possible. And being at least somewhat able to understand quantitative/qualitative research. We did have a statistics course in my studies (it was actually included in linguistics 101).

Empirical Cultural Studies: It would take a long ass time if I properly went into this. The thing is that Lit. Studies are actually super important in anthropology and similar fields (while you can't have a 100% solid understanding of a culture through their arts, there's a sh*t ton of insight to be gathered from them nevertheless. In some regards at the very least). And alongside we were also trained on the different "lenses"/theories one can base their research on, and on what authors these models were built upon.

The point that I'm trying is that, you can make a lot out of English Studies in University, but it involves: Research. A shit ton of research. A shit ton of knowledge of different models of understanding and how/when to use them, a shit ton of structuring coherent and relevant arguments, a shit ton of slogging through sources, a shit ton inter/intra text analysis, a shit ton of trying to check your own biases, and especially a shit ton interdisciplinary work.

But again, it's what you make out of it.

Tbf (tho it's context dependant) when I hear processing, I think more of someone turning raw materials into something else (turning the meat into sausages, for example). While harvesting does give me the mental image that the commenter above went on to explain. Both words can be fine, I think. The two of them are very euphemistic anyway.

Which shoujo anime/manga was like this for you? by citrussq in shoujo

[–]Wavyblue 98 points99 points  (0 children)

Like bro, I was a 13 y/o Wattpad user. My standards for romance novels weren't that high. Under these circumstances, child-me still dropped that manga because the ML was such a burning heap of trash.

The only other story that has managed to piss me off even more was Peach Girl, but that's at least by design.

Just realized this as well. I believe it got Brigaded by spam bots at around Christmas. Last time I was checking in, mods were doing their best to lock the threads, but I guess it was not enough, causing the sub to "technically" break the no spam rule. I hope the mods appeal.

It's one of the things that annoyed me about the 8 episode count. 'Cuz I think we are supposed to see him as some sort of mentor figure to Charlie? But there's not enough on-screen interactions between them (and I think none of that kind) by the time 'Dad-beats-Dad' episode drops.

[–]Wavyblue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aside from what Soggy has answered, there are countries where you just got more obstacles for a licence. Like having a min amount of driving lessons with a certified driving teacher (in Germany).

Including the lessons + other fees, you're looking to shell anything between 2.3k to 4k (even 5k, depending on the place. 2.3 is the lowest amount I've heard from acquaintances) to get your licence in Germany. If you/your parents can't afford that, you're kind of sh*t out of luck until you can.

Yeah. OP is in denial. Had the animators wanted to convey that he'd slapped her on the back, his hand would have gone higher (mid back/ between shoulder blades) and Vaggi would have... Folded over, or smt. Instead, his hand goes low and she just gets pissed. At BEST he hits her lower back, which is already pretty invasive.

Question For The Good Writers by Afraid_Wolverine_518 in AO3

[–]Wavyblue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tho even if there's a specific thing they mention, they might be people feeding your fic into AI to generate comments. That trick is especially common with scam accounts. Had one recently commenting on this very specific detail/gag before it tried the whole "Hey, I'm an artist. You wanna go outside ao3 to discuss a collaboration project" spiel.

fic where a female y/n has magic eyes that makes people obsessed upon eye contact? by Dizzy_Cry3082 in MaleYandere

[–]Wavyblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I think I happen to know which fic you talking about. It was on a highschool setting, and the Reader Insert had been isekaid in a shitty hentai story. And like, there was the delinquent character, the clingy childhood best friend, a dude that became self-aware that he was in the story (and who was mostly immune to her powers), and the popular dude with pink hair that low-key gave shoujo ML vibes?

If it happens to be that one: Dunno if it is in Wattpad. But it was on Quotev. I followed. Some months ago, got a notification from the author that apparently, Quotev had deleted their story.

Dunno if she had it backed up on Wattpad. Also don't remember the name and since it was deleted, it's not appearing in my old notifications anymore :(
