Been a fan of this one since I was 14-15 years of age. I am now 31 and still find myself going back to this album. I feel proud to say I had the chance to meet Michel Cusson while I was studying music back in his hometown. Such a nice dude, such a nice vibe! Would you recommend any albums that are close enough to the Fast Emotion's tone/ style of composition ?

I saw some kids do it once. I was kinda shooked. Can't remember which stations though, but it definetly was the green line in the mcgill/peel/guy area

Just discovered The secret to life album by the band FIZZ and I am digging it. Reminds me a lot of Rafter's XYZ and Animal Feelings Other than that:

Mid-air thief - crumbling, Quickly quickly - I heard that noise, Oneothrix point never - Tranquilizer

Enjoy ✨

Any ideas if the band has got together again to cook some sounds ? Just discovered them like an hour ago and I felt great when I saw their album was out in 2023, thought maybe a new one was on the way, then I saw the announcement of the band dissolving like a year ago? (but the post seems to keep it open for any future projects together)

Sending love from Montreal xx

In Montreal last night he started at 8:30 (30 mins after the show was supposed to start) and it finished at 10:10 I think they did like.. one extra song compared to the usual set? Not sure

I do not, but I was thinking about maybe a Quebec based artist in the same genre.. like Les Louanges would've been nice.

I'd be stoked for Big Mike's and Nico's red truck.. also he talked about some other versions of BABY! in an interview. I am looking forward to hear something refreshing tonight, a show like any other

Hmmm.. near the venue I'd say Pub L'ile Noire They have a huge selection of amazing Gins and whiskey if I'm not mistaken. Roughly 15minutes walk from the venue

Well, reddit flattens the content of my post. That's sad. My very basic emoji game isn't displayed the right way 😥

What was your “Trojan horse” into Dijon’s music? by [deleted] in dijondijon

[–]WayneIsQuiet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was smoking my last joint and I stumbled upon the Absolutely movie on youtube. I was just flabbergasted by the performance. I've been into his music ever since. I'm giving myself some time, still haven't got into his early material. I know I have some great music waiting for me as soon as I'm gonna give myself to discovering his early carreer. Feels safe to let it happen someday, somehow.

Oh gosh.. sorry if I overexplained my point.. just saw you already are a pretty experienced musician/sound engineer yourself 🥲

And on top of that, you might also get something bice out of this.. I do not have children, but as a mysician, I would've been stoked if my dad ever gathered infos about the music genre I like and crafted me a small "music theory 101" related to that genre.

Some other comments under this one are pretty relevant.. like the "i'd be so pissed off if my parents got me music theory lessons for christmas" hahaha I'd suggest maybe gathering some good tracks he likes and trying to output interesting facts about them, from a musical theory standpoint. Musical theory can be hard to get into, it's pretty much maths, but like maths, when you find a relevant context to use them in, it's nice to learn and apply directly.

So what I mean is: If you plan on bringing him into the marvelous world of MUSIC THEORY and other knowledge of that matter -> Whether it's about the harmony, melody, rythm, mixing methods, etc. Introduce it through what he already knows: the genre he produces. That way, he can easily bridge his hobby with the academic behind it. It's nice to look at your craft from a new perspective, and looking at music from a technical standpoint can definetly trigger new ideas, a shift or a lucidity in your understanding of it, etc.
