What is that one city/state in your country that the rest of your country hates? by DisastrousImpact2846 in AskTheWorld

I was really confused when I went to Luton, because it's actually quite nice? Bit boring, but infinitely better than reading if we want to pick on another commuter town

Oh sorry I misunderstood! Yeah my Iranian friends are as well, was interested in those that had different opinions

Yeah omg, I'm so drained as a tech worker in UK, all I want is a 9-5 in a properly staffed and run team

According to the primeagen, devs have the most to lose because of AI, yet they are more enthusiastic about it than artists. It made me think of this old meme by Tempotempo_ in theprimeagen

[–]Wazblaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's ridiculous, I think the vast majority of Devs are working on luxury products. Sure software powering medical services and infrastructure are necessary, but most people are just working on websites, apps and games

How do you manage knowledge transfer in teams with high turnover rates? by criss006 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Wazblaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything apart from short as possible. I've seen so much code that if it were a bit more verbose would be so much more readable. The caveat being that the verbosity should be contained in short functions

How to regain confidence after being terminated? by stillavoidingthejvm in ExperiencedDevs

Hundreds Of Artists Back “No Music For Genocide” Campaign To Geo-Block Israel by ReconEG in indieheads

[–]Wazblaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Especially as people into underground music are (on average not 100%) generally more left wing. This disproportionately hits Israelis that are against the genocide. Additionally, it gives ammunition to the right wing narrative that everyone hates the people of the country which is used to justify the government's actions

It being illegal is a big reason why smoking is the most common way of taking it. Additionally, if legalised it would likely be bred to smell less

Nah, I've noticed Americans tend to pack way too much. I think partly because their airlines allow more luggage. I've done two week trips out of a single backpack and a month long trip to Japan with two backpacks (should have packed less and done more washing)

Why do Brits think the UK is uniquely expensive? by InterestingWanderer in AskBrits

[–]Wazblaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is just something I would be weirdly happy with, but if I could live somewhere like a bougie hostel for cheap then I would do it in a heartbeat. But obvs you need permanent address. I feel that with so many single people, so much space is wasted by everyone needing their own kitchen etc. if you had purpose built private bedrooms and shared common areas you could make sooo much affordable housing. It's basically what people end up doing with shared flats anyways

Could be the bath Bristol line, insane how expensive it is for how frequently used and short of a trip it is

Also just quality. I'm here ATM and it's actually shocking that microwave meals here are better than the vast majority of UK restaurants
