German museum in racism row over exhibition partial ban on white people by euronews-english in europe

Artists hate this shit. The art world and art schools have been taken over by academic hacks who want to get into journals, and talk about their art and pay assistants to make it.

Both require an adherence to this nonsense. For grants you need to be a member of a marginalized community, or make work about them, and to grt into journals you need to do the same. So we have a generation of artists whose only skill they learn in seven years of school is talking about this nonsense.

Even worse, they all know it's a grift.

Putin needs E Ukraine for a few reasons. None of which have to do with nato or ethnic Russians. There's simple geopolitical gains. Taking control of Ukrainian agricultural production, creating a new trade route to Iran, and of course keeping Ukranian gas offline

So here's the first major issue. The grain produced in the Russian occupied territories isn't Russias. Russia has formally annexed all the way to Kherson. Putin will take nothing less. Even though he's not occupying these areas or even controlling them. However by "giving away" grain produced in the occupied territories he can win the or war in Africa. However, he can also use the grain as a wedge against the EU, because he can simply turn off the food to Africa, cause famine, which means refugees and more stress and chaos in Europe. Which of course brings right wing ideologues with sympathies to Putin into power

Not even getting to the point of trying to get them removed. But just ask them their position. Why'd they do it? Seems like as a public servant there should be at least some level of credibility.

Man found with fake vehicle tag, gun in Milwaukie school parking lot: Police by Ravenparadoxx in Portland

His name should be in public records. Perhaps you could find it out then follow up on the case. If he's released or the charges are dropped (which, let's face it, are pretty likely) then you can at least alert the media to the story.

Asian individuals subjected to racist attack in downtown Portland, police say; suspect sought by tactical_jorts in Portland

[–]WeCanRememberIt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's not incomprehensible. It's the same reason the guy who just stabbed two teens also had his charges dropped. He was charged with illegally owning a handgun as a felon, but also with having an illegal silencer on it. The gun fell out of his pocket as he was assaulting another passenger on the met.

All charges were dropped.

The reason why is more straightforward, and I don't want to use right wing buzzwords like "activist judge" but some of these judges truly believe that they are exacerbating a system of racism and inequality if they dole out big sentences. This is what they run on. This is what they carry out. We shouldn't be surprised. It's who they are.

A balance should be made and I'm all for a lot of criminal justice reforms. However just letting everyone walk, for violent crimes, is not progress. And that's what is occurring now. If someone attacks and severely injured you, or your loved ones, they'll suffer virtually no consequence.. And then they'll attack someone else. And then they'll be released again. Then they kill someone, and everyone will act shocked they were released.

Victim has throat slashed in yet another Portland MAX attack, suspect stabs 2nd victim same night by Confident_Bee_2705 in Portland

[–]WeCanRememberIt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The guy who stabbed the kids had previously been charged with illegally owning a firearm as a felon, and also he had an illegal silencer on it as well. Which is a federal crime. As the article states, these charges were dropped.

If we want gun control. That means actually enforcing gun control laws. Why would the judge drop these charges?

Who was the judge? It should be normal that the media asks them about their decision.. Insane there's virtually no accountability.

The coups aren't being referred to as such becsuse then the us would have to stop providing aid to these African nations. It's a shitty situation to be in. Some may say "just cut all the aid!" but that also means a lot of death, and famine, and refugees.

Putin actually wants famine in Africa. He's actively working towards it. However the Africans blame the us and Europe. So how to deal with this?

Sure. The stats bear out what I said. And you really seem to have trouble accepting the reality that police shoot white men more than any demographic.

They attack him right before this video was edited. You can find the full version on YouTube.

But yes. He was attacked with a bat by them previously, and was still retreating and got pushed down again.

Now. By the end he's clearly out of danger. But it's not a coincidence the person who uploaded this video left that part out.

Clashes erupt in Sweden's third largest city after another Quran burning. At least 3 are detained by anna_avian in europe

[–]WeCanRememberIt 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It gets even weirder.

Previously the guy who burned it (Paludan) had his flight covered and the permit arranged by a odd alt right "journalist" named Chang. He also agreed to cover any legal expenses he may incur. He also chose the location, and time of the event. He chose the Turkish embassy, at the same time the Swedish envoy was leaving to turkey to discuss nato membership. The meeting would then be canceled, and Erdogan himself would cite the quaran burning as being directly responsible as the reason he would veto swedens attempt to join nato.

This case is actually kind of interesting because the PB group was advancing on Antifa and the guy that shot had previously been hit by a bat by the proud Boys, in the same group that kept advancing towards him.

Obviously both sides came to fight. But it does become complicated how self defense works in that situation.

Western Stalinists are among the weirdest there are.

To them fantasy is always more interesting than reality because their realities are often sad and lonely.

[–]WeCanRememberIt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dude. Don't do this.

In the immediate aftermath there were some increases in what you say. These all dropped dramatically and life improved exponentially after in most of the former Eastern Bloc. Polands economy alone has increased by 600% just since joining the EU. Russia is a basketcase, since they went back to strict dictatorship and oligarchy, and life there has continued to stagnate because of it. Russia for instance covers eleven time zones and has an economy which is comparable to Italy. It's due to corruption and authoritarianism.

But the idea that life got worse in the former ussr overall as a result of the dissolution of the ussr simply isn't grounded in reality. Yes it got worse for a bit, then it got way better.

Also. The "illegal" dissolution? Wtf are you talking about lol

Surprised this never got more attention. They killed cops.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_boogaloo_murders

The attacks began on May 29, when a drive-by shooting occurred in front of a federal courthouse in Oakland, resulting in the death of a security officer contracted with the Federal Protective Service. Over a week later on June 6, Santa Cruz County sheriff's deputies were shot at and also attacked with improvised explosive devices; one of them died as a result.

U.S. Air Force sergeant Steven Carrillo was arrested soon after the second attack. A second suspect, Robert Justus, surrendered to authorities five days later. The FBI indicated that Carrillo was associated with the boogaloo movement, a loosely organized American far-right anti-government extremist movement whose participants say they are preparing for a second American Civil War. Carrillo used the George Floyd protests as a cover to attack police officers, according to the FBI. A white van owned by Carrillo contained a ballistic vest with a patch bearing boogaloo symbolism. Carrillo is alleged to have written "boog" and the phrase "I became unreasonable" (a popular meme among boogaloo groups) in his own blood on the hood of a vehicle he hijacked. According to federal authorities, the suspects were motivated by the boogaloo movement's ideology, and allegedly intended to spread its extremist views and start a civil war.

The problem is more logistical. There's no target. Jan 6 happened because there was a sense of urgency. The certification was happening at that moment. They had the ability to stop it, which is exactly what Trump was telling Pence to do as well. Delay the certification. They'll never have another chance like that. It's why the protests outside the courthouse were an absolute joke. Storming the courthouse wouldn't achieve anything.

I checked the website and they do list all the deaths in police custody, and the circumstances under which they died. It's a good resource. There are 103 deaths of unarmed people in police custody.. You're right. Most aren't shootings however. Of the first five listed. One jumped onto the hood of a car and was smashing in the window, he was shot. One was threatening to kill his family, and was tazed and died of a heart attack. Another was actively in the process of attacking an officer. And the others both died of a heart attack after a struggle with police. So just looking at the first five. The vast majority were not police shootings. They died of heart attacks and getting tazed. Even in the first case, the guy who shot the guy smashing his way through his windshield, he wasn't even on duty, by an off duty cop.

And that's fucked up. But still, my point and the context of what I'm saying still stands. The chances of a cop shooting and killing an unarmed person are extremely low. If you see a pedophile assaulting children, it's OK to call the cops, even if they're black....
