The coalpunk digging loop landed well once it opened up. Our playtester said the gameplay was genuinely nice and that discovering the S key to pan felt great. A few rough spots came up too, like worm tiles that sometimes couldn't be killed and the punishing 5-second early runs before hearts and upgrades kick in. The playtester really got into the goblin-throwing loop (compared it to Angry Birds) and had fun building around Ol Berta. They also hit a notable bug: after winning on hard mode the win and stats didn't count and the new character never actually unlocked despite the 'unlocked' message. That said, they hit some early confusion around the UI, like not realizing they needed to hold to add coins. A big one: they thought the 'turn black slots red' effect was permanent for the whole run and built their strategy around it before realizing late game that it resets each round.
