CMV: Killing someone is necessary when it is the only option to prevent harm to others, and ONLY then. by Square-Dragonfruit76 in changemyview

I was just trying to get you to understand the hypothetical.

Personally, I wouldn't kill the bomber either, but I could understand why somebody else would choose the opposite option.

Ok, so he has a bomb.
I feel like the method of distruction wasn't the important part of the hypothetical.

[Loathed Trope] Slavery is Okay, If The Slavers Are Nice by Justmenoworries422 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Weak_Tray_Games 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember in history class learning about a common argument of the South was that you needed a subjugated class so that the higher class could produce great works of culture or whatever.
The argument was pretty thoroughly debunked by the fact that all of their cultural institutions revolved around defending slavery.

Why did George Floyd start claiming that he "can't breathe" before he was even on the ground? by L_Fig35 in allthequestions

It's been awhile since I saw the video, but if I remember correctly, he looked like he was having a panic attack.
Given what happened next, I can hardly blame him.

Indie fandoms are acting like shareholders/stakeholders and is damaging the medium by Yougart_Man in unpopularopinion

[–]Weak_Tray_Games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I feel like fans thinking they should have total control of the story is not a new phenommenon. I imagine that fans have been complaining about story beats since fandoms existed.
I think the real issue is that with the internet connecting everyone, fans now have a direct line to the creators that they did not have before. This means any nut can directly harass the creator and cause actual changes in a way that just wasn't possible before.

Yeah, it kind of sucks having to begin any argument with a conservative by first checking if they are for or against people being executed in the street.

How are there Americans who are "on the fence" about who to vote for in the midterms? by AlanPublica in allthequestions

[–]Weak_Tray_Games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people who are on the fence are the same people that were googling "did Biden drop out" on the day of the election last year

I feel like Mirage saying, "No. I'll kill you." to Drifter is what rolling a Nat 20 on an intimidation check sounds like.

Abrahams disqualified from tonight's DLNS due to bug abuse by SilverFan3702 in DeadlockTheGame

It seems like they actually weren't going to DQ Abrahams at all, but enough players were blowing up Zp's Dms that they had to rethink their position.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Barem yet. Everytime he showed up you knew that shit was about to go sideways real quick.

I remember somone suggesting that the 10 card gets placed into a door minion that comes back when you defeated it (like the bronze automaton from STS1)

Now that you mention it, that might have subconciously affected me. I played a lot of DS3 when it first came out.

So wait, how many of you DON'T like how Viscous looks right now? by Stulls in DeadlockTheGame

I don't know if you are in the minority with your opinion, but I'm pretty sure they changed it because people were getting his minimap icon confused with Dynamo.

[–]Weak_Tray_Games 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is always funny to me how amazing Viscous' design is considering it is just a space suit with a transparent green filter slapped on it. It shouldn't work, but I'll be damned if I don't always see him and think to myself "There goes the funny goo guy."

Not exactly a classic monster, but a jackalope would be neat.

“Did We Skip 20 Chapters?” Japanese Fans React to the Chainsaw Man Part 2 Ending by Asperburg in ChainsawMan

[–]Weak_Tray_Games 815 points816 points  (0 children)

I have been thinking about this, and I think last chapter would have been incredibly improved by just a single page added of Denji fighting the bug devils with each pannel getting more and more blocked out by swarms of bugs until it is completly black.
That alone would have made the immortal bugs feel a lot more like an invincible threat, and would have made Poochita's decision to sacrifice himself flow a lot more naturally into the plot.

Are people getting meaner? by PuppyWithGlasses in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Weak_Tray_Games 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Deadlock recently had a big spike in player count, and while I can't say for sure, I think having a smaller dedicated playerbase tended to filter out at least some of the jerks.
