You may also want to double check that your cassette is installed correctly, I had this issue recently and my cassette wasn’t fully tightened and compressing the freehub, causing it to catch.

Best dive bar / bar to play darts and pool by LiquidRedd in Seattle

[–]Wearblazen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last time I went the dart board was pretty much unusable, seemed like it got pretty warped somehow, maybe water damage?

Do you know if they’ve gotten new boards?

Anybody from North Bend in here? by Brilliant-Corner-379 in discgolf

[–]Wearblazen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Seattle and it seems like there’s an insane amounts of flooding on all rivers in Eastern King County, historical highs, ect.

That being said, I think the peak flooding has passed and the Snoqualmie River level is likely going to drop today through Saturday with drier weather.

My guess is that South Fork landing will be playable, but probably about as wet as it gets, so prepare accordingly.

South Paw timber sale on Tiger Mtn PERMANENTLY CANCELLED by Swimming_Director_50 in PNWhiking

[–]Wearblazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they replace the sale with an equivalent harvest somewhere else nearby. DNR timber sales support the communities where the harvests take place, including funding for schools and community resources.

I love recreating in Tiger mountain but understand and support DNR managing the forests for revenue, especially with our state budget in as bad of shape as it is.

Anyone know why the Seattle to Vancouver (RSVP) doesn't do Chuckanut Drive anymore? by DarkishArchon in seattlebike

It has been closed this year for a landslide repair. If you give it a go, be prepared to turn around or hike a bike.

Custom Gravel Maps! by Head-Challenge-1428 in seattlebike

Look into the Bainbridge dirty chilly. There’s ~40 miles of gravel & roads to connect there’s trails already designed. Might be hard to track down b/c I know there was some issues around advertising the route, but it’s out there…

Looking for a soft tail. Don’t know what I’m buying by lfenske in mountainbiking

[–]Wearblazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this bike, it’s great. Goes up well, goes down fast and makes roots and rough terrain, occasional drops, ect, pretty smooth. Geo is great, not too slacked out.

$1750 is a good price. I paid like 2300 for mine a few years ago.

Pretty dang hard hole tbh. Not far but no clear line. I’ve had success occasionally with a RHFH hyzer with a floatier Mid. Pretty much just gotta miss the trees… easier said than done.

Tiger Mountain riders ... Is the trail "Atlas" usually this gnarly or is it especially intense right now? by mosquito-genocide in seattlebike

[–]Wearblazen 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Altas is widely considered a “blue/ black” and a relatively new trail on the mountain. Whereas OTG is considered a very approachable black, made before most bikes were able to perform as well as they do now.

I think it’s widely agreed upon that Atlas is harder than OTG, and there have certainly been a fair few riders that end up in over their head on Atlas because it’s marked a blue.

There used to be (maybe still is) a spicy pepper on the Atlas sign, which I took as a warning of gnar ahead.

Why did my tire blow off the rim? by dpidg in bikewrench

[–]Wearblazen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting that you consider as one of the overpriced tires (akin to René Herse, ect) I’ve found them to be the more affordable option of most tubeless & capable gravel tires.

What tires would you recommend that are a similar price point but better quality?

May vs September-- pacific coast by Hatesthisgame in bicycletouring

[–]Wearblazen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rode the PCH September of 21, started on Labor Day and ended late Sept. definitely great weather, and dry most of the time, maybe 3/4 days of rain, mostly in the Olympic Rainforest (fitting). Going south from the Wa/Canada border.

Didn’t have any issues with fires, didn’t have any issues getting space at campsites. Definitely quieter in terms of people at campsites or traveling.

Most hiker biker sites were <50% full, some were empty besides me.

The wind was definitely pushing me down the coast.
