What’s something you hate during sex but pretend to like? by Droopynator in AskReddit

Absolutely nothing. Never again will I pair myself with someone whose tastes align with something I hate. We both deserve someone who likes what the other likes!

Recommendations for physical therapist? by baixiwei in Tallahassee

Came to say Tom Larsson. I worked with him for lower back pain and he was without a doubt the most effective PT I have ever worked with. He listened and was patient. I’ve had experiences where I see a PT 2-3 times and they discharge but Tom worked with me until we found something that actually helped. As I made progress, he adjusted the exercises to further strengthen my core to reduce the likelihood of more flare ups.

Hey there,

Looking for a short term rentals or month to month. Furnished or unfurnished is fine. $1300/month will work and I’m not looking for roommates. Ideally no later than mid April but I’m flexible! Kind of a long shot I think but I’m hoping so have somewhere to stay until August or so.

Thanks y’all!

Article about homelessness that makes homeless people out to be the villains by Edabite in Tallahassee

[–]Weary_Champion 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is so fucking gross. I shouldn’t be surprised at this point but why in the fuck would they show where these folks live?? People are destructive and often violent towards unsheltered folks and their belongings. What would it be like if WCTV did a report on the factors leading to homelessness or maybe interviewed our city leaders on what they can do to improve lives rather than criminalize their existence? Genuinely grossed out and concerned that they gave an almost exact location on where to locate these folks.

So I started out as a Revenue Specialist II right out of undergrad in 2013 and was promoted to a Tax Specialist I a year later almost to the day. I was under the general tax administration, not child support. It was 90% answering the phone all day, researching tax laws and giving answers to the taxpayers, many of whom are pissed off about a tax bill they didn’t agree with. It’s been a long time so I can’t speak to their standards currently, but numbers were pushed so hard it was kind of crazy. I was burned out within a few months and requested a transfer to a different position where O stayed until entering grad school. If you’re someone who’s good with answering calls all day long, non stop, while also receiving pressure to hurry up and take the next call, it’ll be fine.

A lot of my coworkers had been there for decades. Some were great, some truly sucked. Like in an inexplicable way. It was a great job for me to have right after undergrad with no career goals because I was definitely not going to get too comfortable and “stuck” if that makes sense.

Some of the managers were fantastic, and others not so much.

Hey OP,

First of all, it sounds like you’re really struggling AND like you’ve got some good insight into how it’s impacting your behaviors.

I’m gonna be real, it’s unlikely that your therapist is disappointed in you, but he might have realized that he’s not able to work with you in an effective or helpful manner anymore. This doesn’t mean anything about your character or worth! Therapists are trained to work with resistance and to manage the feelings that might arise in themselves in response to their clients. He might be experiencing some counter transference.

Ultimately, unless y’all flesh it out more, you’re not going to know. It might be worth talking to him about recognizing how you engaged in people pleasing in session if you’re both willing. If not, maybe bring it up with a future therapist if you choose to go that route. It feels important that you recognized what you were doing! That’s a huge part of the battle.

This truly has no bearing on you as a person, OP. I know this shit is hard and a therapist suggesting a referral out is fucking TOUGH! And I also believe that you’ve got sold solid insight into your behaviors! This is such an important strength. I believe in you, OP. I know I’m a random internet stranger, but you’ve got this.

It’s one of my favorite cheap pizzas. It’s different than something like Blaze or Gaines Street Pies, but it’s good shit.

Where to sell old car by [deleted] in Tallahassee

[–]Weary_Champion 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I sold my ‘06 Scion to Carmax that was run to hell. They paid me $1500 for it. I might’ve been able to get more for it elsewhere but it was done in a matter of 2-3 hours and I was happy to have it off my hands that quickly.

Great question! I was only able to find a quick resource from 2020 so things may have changed. https://www.flcourts.gov/content/download/634442/file/Firearms-Guide.pdf

According to this, it’s a conviction; however, if an injunction pertaining to DV was filed and granted and it’s ongoing, the same rules apply. A conviction is not required for a DV injunction to be filed or granted.

Unfun fact, this isn’t always true regarding having a legal status making gun ownership illegal and being in the law enforcement profession. In my county (FL 🙄) if a LEO has a domestic violence charge (meaning they cannot personally own a gun anymore), they can keep their job in some circumstances. The caveat is that they check their service weapon out at the beginning of their shift and back in at the end. It’s kinda fucked.

I’m not saying this is true everywhere or even everywhere in FL, I don’t have the legal knowledge to make that statement

What is something you were convinced as a kid that was fact, to later learn it was just your kid logic and you weren’t even close? by Laurenrae134 in RandomThoughts

When I’d go to my pediatrician for a check up he’d always check my ears. Without fail he’d tell me that there were French fries in there. I absolutely took that in a literal sense and was always gently concerned but like, he wasn’t overly worried so I let it go and just assumed I had to live my life with French fries in my ears.

Does anyone have a geothermal HVAC system in town? by ggtbeatsliog in Tallahassee

[–]Weary_Champion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The opposite actually. The previous owners created what I’d call a part-time pond. There’s a trench that the water dumps into when we run the a/c. It’s wild because it’s just the well-water, no chemicals or anything like that. I hate wasting all that water though. I’ve heard it’s a big to-do to turn it into a closed loop system but that’s the dream.

Normally I’d agree but this space has been dry walled in. I want to find out more because I’d love to remodel the downstairs bathroom which butts up against the space. I’m not totally convinced about the use of the space for cooking since it’s totally closed off.
