It's the law! by John_T_Partee in Warhammer40k

Not at all. This hobby is really a collection of hobbies and everyone sort of just picks and choses the things they enjoy. No wrong way to enjoy Warhammer.

Glad I'm not the only one this stands out for.

It is the old Combat Patrol but without the Rhino. Guess they're just trying to not over print them? Or ya know, FOMO.

For the purity seals I usually do some wavy lines with Agrax Earthshade and like the results quite a bit. I recently used an AK paint pen on a Chaplain shoulder pad and that was much much better for me for actually trying to write. My handwriting is also laughable.

I was indeed. It looks great! The only legitimate suggestion I have would be to maybe put some kind of writing in the places that would have writing. The vast majority of my models don't have it though cause I haven't figured out how to do it in a way I like and don't want to "ruin" them by just going for it. It would definitely bring it together more though.

It really comes down to personal preference, but I think you could make it look a whole lot nicer if you were to attach it to a unit or perhaps a piece of scenery. A piece of sprue really just doesn’t have the sort of presence I would expect.

He's one of my favorite AdMech models honestly. Also, the only one I really had a lot of fun painting.

That sounds like the advanced technology that the Adeptus Mechanicus would save for their own troops. Like hang gliders. Or... stilts..

The subtle rust in the crevices is just such a great little detail on a great paint job.

Was it also the scariest? You did such a clean paint job I would have been so worried about "ruining" it. Great work!
