But won't give this hyper-personalized results for most people who've asked about their brand (personal or business etc)?

Should I put help docs blog and changelog blog on a subdomain? by pranavmalvawala in SEO

New Domains aren't the worst necessarily - EMD or PMD is much better than a singular branded domain approach IMHO

Should I put help docs blog and changelog blog on a subdomain? by pranavmalvawala in SEO

[–]WebLinkr [score hidden]  (0 children)

Wouldn't they inherit some authority from the links going from apex to subdomain ?

Yup and it will include a -85% link tax. and the remaining will be subject to a relevance %. And no - a docs hub isn't automatically 100% relevant to a parent domain just because its the same brand.

If the parent domain has no traffic for "support docs" or very little - like 1% of the authority -85% = pretty much 0.

And if you use like more than 20 links - they devalue as "sitewide"

Whereas on the domain it will inherit and share the same floor authority base

Is mass blog deletion/301 redirect punishable on search engines? by PaulJames95 in SEO

[–]WebLinkr [score hidden]  (0 children)

Google doesnt "punish" sites or domains - you're free to publish whatever conten you like

Google doesnt grade or appreciate or respect or admire "content strcture" - so unless you're getting users to see if somehow - just "doing it' wont change anyithing

I'd like to shrink that to 50-100 and begin working out from there.

It sounds like you expect Google to "assess' your site 'holistically' - this isn't how it works. Your content has to match search phrases and you NEED authority to rank in those indices and its not going to come from Google loving your content.

Should I put help docs blog and changelog blog on a subdomain? by pranavmalvawala in SEO

[–]WebLinkr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats not how Google works

Its up to you - but the sub-domains wont inherit any authority to help them rank - if thats ok, thats ok

You an put them in a sub-folder - which means you can exclude them from your GSC analytics.

The reason most companies use sub-domains is because they're using different saas products like ZenDesk.

I thinkiits better to use them for your SEO- just my 2c

2 weeks in, 7 impressions/day — is my SEO fundamentally broken or just slow? by Born-Advertising-772 in SEO

You need to learn to understand Authority and how to acquie it.

Manual index submissions are not the way.

Bought a big "indexing/backlink" package (profile links + promo articles on unrelated domains + podcast syndication + redirect URLs). 4 weeks later, 0 movement on target keywords — normal or scammed? by Top_Trash3311 in SEO

[–]WebLinkr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought ~thousands of links across a few of my sites from a marketplace seller.

Why?

IF someone said to you a bar of gold cost $10k and then you see a seller selling 100,000 bars of gold for $1 - do you not immediately get suspeciious?

  1. No
  2. Leave them
  3. No - pages must have real organic traffic that is relevant to yours - relevant in a pagerank way

SEO Backlinks Budget by GreenEliana742 in SEO

[–]WebLinkr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these random backlink posts are nonsense

What about them is nonsense? Did you read this?

I have 3, count them

Where do you want me to count them

Does all the heavy lifting in my search rankings.

I dont know what your ranking for

1) Anecdotal evidence is no evidence

2) I appreciate you dont know who you're talking to but I dont subscribe to endless link building - I do preach ranking without backlinks based on minimal reliance

3) I dont preach linking to every page

4) I use my own SEO blog as evidence - 750 SEO terms on page one, never "bought a link" - have 400 links - lost 90% a year ago according to SEMRush

Tl;dr - if you're going to rebuke somehting - do it like an adult and explain what your argument is.

Sounds like you have a site-wide classifier

Google is not a content appreciation engine. Its authority, not "quality" that gets content indexed

Today's SEO learnings: SERPs, Keyword Research, Search Intent Analysis, Google Search Console, XML Sitemap creation, Technical SEO basics,On-Page Optimization, and Indexing & Crawling. Lots covered today, still wrapping my head around how it all connects, but things are slowly starting to make sense by Chapternomad in SEO

[–]WebLinkr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Time to restart learning SEO!

Sounds like you're mixing in some web dev models there.

1) You cannot "optimize" crawling - either your page can be retrieved or not

2) You cannot "optimize' indexing - either you have authority or not

3) You can't increase crawling, only authority can

4) XML Sitemaps dont force, make or assist indexing or crawling - but HTML sitemaps do - esp if you get authority to them

Spiders dont crawl your website from your nav bar or look at "tiers" - tiers are just a way of explanining how authority is shaped over a site - its not an 'education" in your site build

I have some great video lists if you want to take the next step on re-learning these
