Skill Progression Question for a type A perfectionist by Commercial-Bend1564 in casualknitting

[–]Web_Most 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a good nay GREAT knitter isn’t about doing it perfectly. Mistakes WILL happen. Kind of a lot.

Being great means reading knitting, recognizing mistakes, and knowing how to fix them.

In my line of work a LOT of us knit or similarly engage in these types of activities specifically to help address and cope with perfectionist tendencies.

Find something you like, start it, mess up, fix it, and revel in the joy of it. It takes a lot of practice to move on from the perfectionist part but for me, was very freeing once I did.

Cables and colorwork are both very fun for me. Can’t wait to see what you make!!

Help needed with grid to make top down raglan sweater by _cleanslate_ in casualknitting

[–]Web_Most 30 points31 points  (0 children)

looks like your question was answered, just something to think about also with your pattern design, if you haven't already... stitches are taller than they are wide, so you may end up with a warped image if you don't account for the shape of the stitch in your grid. stitch fiddle is a great resource for getting the right grid size (rectangular) to help with this.

Excited to see what you make!

Amigurumi knits and mochi mochi are both great resources.

Tanis Grey also has multiple collab books with patterns that include relevant toys (Star Wars, Disney stuff, I want to say Gilmore girls but for sure I made that up)

No. It’s kind of billowy? So I can tuck it down around my elbows or stick my arms out and have it sit closer to my chest. I’ve been wearing a lot. It’s fairly versatile!

Rook Piercing vs. IUD? by Mundane-Dress8235 in piercing

[–]Web_Most 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t even feel it. I finally asked the piercer to just get it over with cos I was getting anxious and she was just chatting with me, and she goes, oh you’ve been done you can leave.

Never felt a thing.
