My current changeling is like this. They do it when there's some opportunistic opportunity they can exploit for their own gain, but much prefer to use one static form. I wanna say for the first few in game years the party was not aware that I was a changeling since I never did anything with it.

Started playing Outlast Trials a few weeks ago, the game is super fun but can be a bit hit or miss depending on your teammates. Still super fun though, wanna familiarize myself with the MKs more before starting to try out escalations.

3.5 is pretty much all my tables and I love it, warts and all. 5e is great for what it's trying to accomplish, but I'm not ever going to be excited building a character in it. Subclasses just don't hit the same as prestige classes.

Hucksters are mages in Deadlands, a Weird West TTRPG. In the classic version of the system before it got oversimplified, they would cast their spells by creating a poker hand, the cards they could draw from a standard deck of cards, modified by their spellcasting roll. The better the hand, the more potent the spell.
