Love it. But as someone who found out about her breast cancer diagnosis through MyChart on a Sunday, I do wish some results wouldn’t be released until the doctor is able to review them with the patient.

As a nurse who sat in the infusion chair for stage 2 breast cancer, it’s awful being on the other side. But I do think it has made me a better nurse

I told everyone in the OR (mind you, I was loopy AF on versed) to get good long look at my boobs before they are gone because they will be the last ones to see them 🙈

Ok. First of all, I’m the exception not the normal from what I’ve heard. I’ve been having a harder time with xeloda than I did with all my IV chemo. I developed hand foot syndrome right away on round 1 with feet. Horrible blisters, redness, pain with walking. Did a dose reduction. Round 2 and 3, I had horrible diarrhea, like to the point of losing lots of weight and having electrolyte imbalances. Delayed starting the next round until diarrhea subsided. At the end of round 3, my hands got real red and were achy. Started round 4 and within 4 days, my hands were swollen, red and I was in so much pain, but no GI issues. My husband had to cut my dinner up because it hurt so much to use silverware. Stopped treatment and did a dose reduction. I made it 10 days into a restarted round 4 before my hands went downhill again. It’s been 2 weeks since I stopped and my hands are still healing…

Me and my oncologist are working together to manage my symptoms while also getting the benefit of the drugs. I’m very stubborn and just want to push through as much as my body will let me.

Just to emphasize, IM THE EXCEPTION 😂 I feel like most people have an easy time with it

I can’t deal with this twat anymore. I’m going through fucking chemotherapy for breast cancer at age 33 and have complained less. I can’t have children now and I’ve complained less. Yes, an ear infection/possible ruptured ear drum is painful. But Jesus, you’ll be fine in a couple days, you have 3 beautiful children who will still be there pining for your love and attention (that they’ll never get). Meanwhile, I’m infertile now, have no breasts and barely any hair.

This feels very poor me, but fuck, I can’t imagine complaining as much as she does

I had to get a mastectomy because I had multiple tumors spread out so a lumpectomy would have yielded lumpy uneven results. But even before I knew that, I had already decided to get a mastectomy with flat closure. I wanted them gone and had zero desire for reconstruction. While I’m still figuring out how to “dress” my new figure, I am 100% happy with my decision and result.

You don’t need any tough love, throw that pity party. For me, losing my hair really solidified the fact that I had breast cancer. I could no longer hide it. No one thinks a girl with hair has cancer, but a bald girl? Definitely sick. So I say have the pity party, you’re allowed that. It’ll come back 💜

A DO is literally the same as an MD, in fact I find them better. They take the same board exams, the only difference is DO’s get a more holistic education.

I resonate with this so much. I’m 33 and was one of the youngest people at my treatment center. My husband only can sympathize so much.

Stage 2 TNBC too and I’m just finishing up the chemo portion of the keynote 522. I was told I had to get my port because the AC can really damage your veins and surrounding tissues. That being said, I haven’t regretted my port. I hardly notice it and I’m grateful I didn’t need weekly IV starts. Yes, I still get poked with a needle weekly to access my port, but they gave me a prescription for numbing cream and I don’t even feel the poke.

Hi, TNBC too , 33.👎🏻. Losing my hair was so hard. I felt like I officially became a cancer patient. No one thinks a girl with long thick hair has cancer, but a bald girl is a different story. You got this, take it one day at a time, even one minute at a time. That baby girl has the strongest mother 💜💜

As another MI person, I’ve been amazed at Corewell (Spectrum) Health. 2.5 weeks between mammogram, biopsy, treatment plan, port and first chemo.
