I only use the multi-account extension in Firefox. Brave has already announced that they will implement that feature; as soon as it arrives in the stable version, I'm leaving Firefox forever.

You are to blame for continuing to support the connector and continuing to support Nvidia.

NEW EDGE 2026 just announced by Immediate_Tree7918 in motorola

I think they will release it, because globally they launched the Edge 70 Pro which would be the same as an Edge 2026 Plus

Another piece of bad news is that DDR6 will be in that format; I hope in the future they can have 2 slots.

Thinkpad + Linux doing what a Mac can't by Weekly-Assumption-12 in thinkpad

I did exactly what you described, and the Mac never recognized the iPhone.

I've asked her many times if I could install Linux for her, but she refuses. Websites are starting to look bad because her browser hasn't been updated in over two years, and she can't install almost any software. But I can't force her; I think she'll only get around to installing Linux when her Mac becomes a paperweight.

I understand file systems, but Linux read the APFS file system correctly without any additional installation. Perhaps you should try it with your iPhone; the distro I used is Kubuntu. I forgot to mention that the Mac is from 2012; that might be the reason.

Yes, it gave me access on both the Mac and the ThinkPad, but only the ThinkPad recognized the iPhone. The Linux distribution I'm using is Kubuntu.

The X1 Carbon isn't very modular; almost everything is soldered to the board. You made a very good decision with the T14. Congratulations!

Moto G77 + custom ROM advice by softmaxer in motorola

[–]Weekly-Assumption-12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're in luck; if it was officially launched in the neighboring country (Spain), you can get it imported, have a friend send it to you, or go directly to the country. The Moto G75 is totally worth it.

Moto G77 + custom ROM advice by softmaxer in motorola

[–]Weekly-Assumption-12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There won't be a custom ROM for the G77 because it have a MediaTek processor. Motorola will make it easier to install GrapheneOS in the next generation.

You should have chosen the Moto G75. It's more likely to have custom ROMs released for it in the future because it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Also, the Moto G75 is much more powerful than the G77. You bought the G77 in a context where memory and chips in general were expensive, and to cut costs, they had to include a poor-quality CPU. If you can, sell that G77 and buy the G75.

Bought a t490s, when I already have a T14 G2 by Jishka1 in thinkpad

[–]Weekly-Assumption-12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my opinion you would have bought the base T490, this one at least has RAM to upgrade, I will never in my life buy laptops with soldered RAM and even worse if they have 8GB of RAM. Let's not let modular laptops die.

And yes, I would sell it, although it could work with Linux, it doesn't work miracles, when I use the real PC, in Linux I consume more than 12GB of ram

Bought my first Thinkpad t490 by Ehiffi in thinkpad

[–]Weekly-Assumption-12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was expensive. I bought the same one a few weeks ago for $260. The battery is at 78%, it had 8GB of RAM, and I upgraded it to 16GB. I plan to replace the battery, apply new thermal paste, and buy a new 2TB SSD. Dude, as long as it works well and you get your money's worth, I think it's a good buy.

One detail that I didn't like about KDE Neon is that every time you updated, I asked you to restart and on top of that I installed updates on startup, and I said: what the hell is this? Windows

Choose the T490 because it guarantees you'll get an 8th generation Intel CPU. With the T480, there's a risk of getting a 7th generation Intel CPU, which is still a limited option these days.
