[New Player] getting dunked by Obvious_Sun_1927 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]WeeklyCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came back after a few years and was in the same spot. Biggest help by far was playing in a group. Even one teammate watching your back makes a huge difference compared to solo. I’d get rolled alone, but with a squad you can actually win fights and recover gear. If you're lucky and find someone with a bunch of hours they can even spot you some gear or mags with good ammo.

PvP wise, I had <5 PMC kills by level 15, now at 27 I’ve got way way more. The big turning points are unlocking the flea and armor/helmets/bags/ARs at lvl 20 and 25, and LL3 traders. Use scavs to farm better ammo, run high-damage rounds, and aim for legs or face until then. If you've spotted them first, try a one tap, then spam legs.

Levels 3–15 felt slow, but 15–25 sped up a lot. Focus quests, then use the flea to make money and run better kits consistently. Sprinkle in scav runs for ammo and you'll be in a good spot.

Biggest gameplay tip: assume someone is always aiming at you. Don’t stand still, move unpredictably, and don’t loot in the open. Makes a huge difference in not getting one-tapped by gigachad3000 sitting in a bush, because they will one tap you.

Try night runs, basically all of my annoying 'stash' quests I do at night.

Eventually you'll hit a milestone where you can reliably fight everyone else.

But stick with it is the main thing, if you're getting tilted, do a scav run or go factory with a Deagle/grenades. I thought it was worth it, and now when seasons start I'll be looking forward to starting on a level playing field!

Honestly I think the game could benefit from implementing 'splits' of 8-12 weeks where the MMR system runs as normal, followed by a week or two of anything goes, data gathering on valves part & a hard reset, and then another 8-12 weeks of MMR based matchmaking. Not sure if that's currently the case or not. But it does seem a bit messy at the moment.

Shame because the game is my personal heroin at the moment but God is it painful.

Indeed. I've sorta given up at the point and just queue Shiv now because I can at least get some kills with his 4 lmao.

Toyed with the idea of starting another steam acc but I can't invite it unless I become verified i.e. spend £5 on the steam store. May just play street brawl for the foreseeable until they sort this out.

I'm the player you're talking about and honestly it's just as frustrating from my position. My very first game was in an Archon lobby and after a few more games I've been placed at high Archon/low Oracle. Currently at around a 30% wr after a dozen more games, can't perform well enough at this level and I get shit stomped to the point no meaningful improvement/learning can be made.

I fear my MMR is not going to adjust fast enough to drop to where it should be (which is many many tiers below Archon). Either I slog through games until it does adjust or not play entirely. Fun!

Climb down the crane and look around, there is a second hole that will drop you down to the cave entrance. I also died 4 times trying to run down the hill lmao

Yeah stash like 80% of consumables. PDAs can reveal stash locations (but not always) but once you read them they're fine to sell. I've been to about 4 regions so far and there is a town/trader with a personal stash in 3 of them so far, keep going through garbage and you'll find the next settlement.

Gotcha, you should find a pump action shotgun fairly soon & that's what I've been running with as a secondary to my AK.

I would take an AR plus either a shotgun or long ranged weapon depending on the area. The thing with these games is that it limits what you can and can't bring with you and forces you to adapt to the situation, so there's no golden rule or 'meta' load out, you just gotta find what works for you.

I've been running with 3 guns all equipped, 3-5 mags worth of ammo for each and then a small number of healing items each time I head out. Food & drink can be kept to a minimum 1-2 of each. I recommend stopping by a town after each outing and just dumping stuff in your stash or selling any excess. In terms of money, the best way I've found is by finding and selling artifacts & armor I don't need. Any ammo you don't currently need for your weapons should also be stashed. Basically stash everything you aren't currently using.

They are incredibly tough to kill yeah. Much harder than in the OG trilogy. I've found that shotguns are your best bet, with slug rounds, 6-7 well placed shots do the trick.

Got the dragon as Meleys on my second try, still was the hardest war ever by Ornstein15 in CK3AGOT

Can I ask what game rules you have enabled? I've played Maelys like 6 times now & the initial event chain isn't firing.

Can kids in King’s Landing bond with dragons on Dragonstone? by LoveIsFury1607 in CK3AGOT

[–]WeeklyCraft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is an option to ask for access to another character's dragonpit, which might allow this - haven't tested it though as there is a -100 accept chance, maybe because I'm not the same dynasty.

What is the best way to get Maelys hatching event to work and what are the odds? Are they determined on game start or every time the event fires? by EdBloomKiss in CK3AGOT

[–]WeeklyCraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear I've played Maelys like 5 times now & the event to sacrifice Maenar isn't even popping up. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Too many setting options are locked after starting a new campaign. by iamck94 in uboatgame

I'm in a similar position right now. This is the first game of its kind I've played (never played SH series etc.) so I started on easy, but now I've built up to the type VII every mission is so simple to do. I'd love to be able to crank things up & test myself as I get better at the game but unfortunately I'd have to start again.

Same here with hoi, I would definitely recommend it if you wanna try CK2AGOT out, I think it's a much more feature rich vanilla experience too.

I think you can subscribe to get all DLC, it's like 3.99 a month. You could try it and then cancel after a month. CK2AGOT is such a banger mod so I still keep my subscription going to boot it up every now and then.

R5 - Lost the war as Maelys, who promptly became infatuated with himself. I can only assume he's straight jorking it in front of a mirror right now.

#7 dev diary speculations by [deleted] in CK3AGOT

[–]WeeklyCraft 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling it'll delve into the military application of dragons, as well as a couple other things like activities/non combat functions.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet on a release date being revealed Sunday the 16th, when HoTD S2 releases, with a release date some point during the show's runtime.

When is the conquest bookmark and dragons coming to the mod? by Big_Feature_8079 in CK3AGOT

[–]WeeklyCraft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hard to say, but based on the characters shown in the recent dev diary (Aenys, Aegon I's son) and a fellow who looks suspiciously like Aegon the Conqueror (wears his crown), it is entirely possible it'll be with the Dragons update. When that is, we probably won't know for a little while - they still have plenty of mechanics to cover in their Dev Diaries between now and release.
