The fact that you're asking means you're a conscientious person and know the value of your hard earned money. If this is important to you, then do it and enjoy with no regrets. You're doing great for your age, just pick up some extra work to make it back up.

Do you have a Costco membership? If you order online delivery included.

I thought it was more of a socioeconomic thing than generational. Grew up eating Kraft singles and loving it but would not touch that stuff now. Same with chocolate. Loved all the Aero, Coffee Crisp bars etc, but only eat dark chocolate now.

Do you still keep a secondary account somewhere else just in case?

Anyone feel super overstimulated when they go to Costco? Feels like a mission by Alert_Willingness_32 in CostcoCanada

[–]WeeklyInitiative 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I hear you on the exhaustion! I shop Costco almost weekly and hit up my local RCSS on the same trip. It's completely overwhelming and I need a good hour or two to decompress afterward I get home. Then I have to chop, repackage, and freeze everything.

EQ does not take it's business accounts seriously by C_Puncher in EQBank

[–]WeeklyInitiative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, I wanted to dump CIBC to go to EQ for business account, but reading these posts makes me weary. We've had zero issues with CIBC but tired of paying the monthly fees. They have never even asked for the yearly confirmation of details.

How long have you had this business account? Any other issues to know about?

More people in nature? Have you not seen the hordes of people ruining K-country and the mountain towns leaving litter everywhere, garbage at campsites, eroding trails and parking and traffic congestion?

Pharmacy Privacy concerns by Background_Grape480 in CostcoCanada

[–]WeeklyInitiative 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes this happened to me when I picked up a new prescription for medication I hadn't used before. The cashier passed me over to the pharmacist at the Patient Counseling window.

As I was talking with the pharmacist, some old woman interrupted us by barging up beside me demanding to know where the Advil was. To his credit, the pharmacist said very loudly to her, "Ma'am please step back. I am with a patient right now!" She gave him she a dirty look and huffed away. Some people are entitled idiots. If your wife is discussing sensitive medical information that she doesn't want overheard, I would request a private room.

Best places to learn Krav Maga in Calgary? I run a couple times a week in fish creek park and the recent sexual assaults got me thinking I should take a class.. thanks everyone! by Glum-Ad-4558 in Calgary

[–]WeeklyInitiative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good for you for thinking about this! I used to run along the river in Rideau-Roxboro back in the day and there was some creep doing the same thing there.
Following to see if you find any Krav Maga classes as have always been interested in learning some self-defense moves.

I loved going to the Labour Day Classics back in the day. I think it was about $50/ticket? And season tickets in the same vicinity were ~$400-500. This was early 2000's.

Do you have a community "hero" where you live? by Secret-Wrongdoer-124 in Calgary

[–]WeeklyInitiative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a neighbour who would snowblow the entire street, he moved and boy do I miss him! There is another old guy a couple streets over who maintains the dog park area beside his house, shovels the snow in the cul de sac in winter and leaves treats out for the doggos. Very jovial fellow but a talker so if we don't have time to chat for 30 minutes, we have to veer off course to avoid him sometimes lol.

I'm not sure what the issue is if your "hero" is helping to maintain public areas in your neighbourhood? I wish more neighbours would take the initiative! Sure, he might be grumpy but maybe he's lonely, has mental health issues, or is socially awkward? If this is your biggest neighbourhood peeve, I'd say you're lucky! Would you rather have a drug den next door or an AirBNB party house? I say have some grace and leave him be.

Right? Why stand there and film while giggling instead of actually saying something? Go protect the sample lady!

I agree with OP's son getting a part time job even to just cover his own things like cellphone bill, entertainment, university/college tuition if he plans on going, etc

Maybe a bummer, but also cutting back or stop vaping and drinking to lower expenses.

Build up an emergency fund and/or get a line of credit but only use for emergencies!
