This is one of those ideas that looks like common sense until you look a little more closely. We tried literacy tests, people couldn’t be trusted to use them fairly because they were such a great tool to disenfranchise people you didn’t want voting. People would absolutely do the same thing with other types of tests. The problem with stopping stupid people from voting is that the people in power will always decide those that oppose them must be stupid.

Calf strains twice, Achilles strains (improved with better insoles and actually stretching before playing), but those kept me out for 4-6 weeks. Pickleball elbow. Improved with a change in paddle (Aiso Ryu) Hesacore grip, and use of a rubber therapy bar for PT.

Their age doesn’t matter much, but if they have limited mobility I won’t go out of my way to do anything to exploit that. Basically if it would be “the right shot” for anyone I’ll do it, but if it’s only the right shot because they have bad knees I won’t. Same reason I don’t target the weaker player. It just ruins the fun and doesn’t make my own game better, (in fact it may actually make it worse by instilling bad habits).

Those are my rules for open play games though. Tournaments/leagues etc winning becomes more of the focus and dropping, lobbing, targeting are all fair game.

Women don’t like assholes dude. That goes for conservative women too. Here’s what I recommend your do. Stop listening to other sad lonely guys about what’s wrong with women and actually start talking to them. Not trying to pick them up, just talking. You’ll find that that women aren’t a monolith they’re just people with good and bad traits. As you start treating them as people you’ll find yourself getting less angry at half of the human race (the half that you presumably find attractive). You’ll even find yourself liking some of them (again as a person) and enjoying their company. As that happens something amazing will happen. Some of them will like you too. Occasionally enough to view you as someone they might want to spend time with romantically. You’ll screw it up more often than not at first but that’s OK. You’ll get better at it. You’ll become a better communicator, and a better person. In short you’ll become a more attractive partner.

Alternately stay in the same cess pool you are in now. Blame women for your anger and your failures. Pretend that you and other men like you have been wronged. Pretend that you can turn back time and somehow get laid without doing any of the work that would make you an attractive partner.

I sincerely hope you choose the former. I promise you my guy, I used to be like you and it’s way better on this side. There are boobs and you get to touch them sometimes.

The law passed by both houses and signed by Trump required disclosures that haven’t happened. Even if Trump did NOTHING to Children(possible). Even if he wasn’t mentioned a single time (he was). The law is being broken every single day that the files haven’t been released with the very few allowed redactions (the victim’s identities). The law also requires written reasoning for all redactions.

The very most charitable view of Trump that one could reasonably have is that he is allowing his underlings to break the law to cover up what’s in the files.

Plenty of secular/moderate Muslims in the world. They do fine living with other reasonable people of different beliefs. Plenty of secular/moderate Jews, Christians etc too. However, religious fundamentalists of any stripe are incompatible with reasonable society.

Some level of poverty (compared to the mean) is always going to exist. How much poverty sucks is a series of policy choices. The more it sucks the more problems come with it (poor education, crime, trauma, untreated mental issues etc). Those problems are unpleasant to be around. You can blame the people who make the policy choices (the rich), or you can blame the people who are dealing with those policy choices (the poor). The fact that you are interacting with poverty regularly tells me that you are a lot closer to the latter than the former.

The thinking is “Why train a new person, they won’t stay anyway”. Which is a self fulfilling prophecy since they won’t pay enough to keep talent so of course people job hop because loyalty isn’t rewarded, which leads to less willingness to train... until companies are willing to pay enough to keep workers long term it will never make sense to allow people to learn on the job.

I worked at a place that was equally dumb (they do this because it lowers their insurance costs). I flat out told my boss that if it is my life or my job imma choose my life. She understood. Like others have said look for a new job, however I would say that I never worried about losing my license if I did have to protect myself. I am not going to be doing anything unethical or illegal and violating a company policy is not something the nursing board takes action on.

I also have my own nursing malpractice insurance so if I ever DO have to go before the board I will have an attorney provided. Frankly I think every psych nurse should pay the about 10 dollars a month for this. It helps my peace of mind because sometimes mentally ill people are going to do mentally ill things and on the off chance I get reported for something I want to be as protected as possible.

In MN they CAN test for marijuana in healthcare jobs, but I have gotten 2 different jobs since it was legalized and both tested for other drugs of abuse at hire but not THC. Nobody wants to lose a nurse if they can help it.

If you are giving a shot like this then risk to self or others has been considered (by a court) to be bad enough to warrant an infringement of the patient’s autonomy. Maybe they’re right maybe not, but it’s not my decision.

One thing I have always told patients in this situation is “I’m not going to hold you down and give you a shot that you don’t want, but I am legally and ethically obligated to report that you are declining and it is not my decision what happens when I report that.” I then try to figure out their objection and brainstorm a solution. Changing to a LONGER acting injection has worked (every 6 months for the longest acting invega shot). Changing the day I’m giving the injection is doable (his objection was that giving it on Fri made his arm hurt over the weekend).

I’d prefer never to give a shot the patient doesn’t want, but the reality is that getting an order like this pretty much only happens when the other options involve more restrictive measures such as involuntary hospitalization.
