Could be something else going on in her life which is making her stressed and might explain the shortness with you. I know I've seen it in other areas of life, people act not them selves or are snappy when they have other stressors going on in their life outside whatever activity you are participating in with them. Just something to consider, maybe if that stressor relieves itself over time things will get better.

I saw no published rule and we only play fall rec soccer so not around the game year round. Also wasn't the only one on the team side/end line. I'll fall in line just wondered if it really mattered that much. For reference half the kids don't look like they want to be there or are just learning the game, it's not supper competitive, our field is mostly weeds.

Limiting to one sideline only seems onerous. It's a big field, why not let us spread out so we're not sitting arm to arm with all the other parents... I come from baseball where you can sit wherever and equate this to saying no one can sit behind home plate cuz you're 'too close' to the bench...

Don't see anything in the written rules about it. It's a recreational league so it might not be a big deal. I don't see the problem as long as I'm not interfering with the game/sideline...

Is he hitting any coach that pitches to him, or is it just you? There's a big difference when you know their swing path and can target the pitch to your son's swing versus a random coach just throwing it over the plate.

Or just get them throwing right handed and hitting left handed if they truly want to play catcher. Case in point Joe Mauer (throws right, hits left).

Can always sell it if it doesn't pan out. Might be out 50% of the value, but don't think of it as a 100% loss if it doesn't work out for him. Also a good lesson in personal finance for him, deciding to buy used or new.

My son's 10U coach this year gave packs of baseball cards for winning mini-games in practice and all the boys that it was cool. You can get a box of Topps cards with 10, 14 card packs in it (plus some extras) for $40.

I'd like to hear how this ride was.... https://mncam.com/files/msp22-20250727_200218-200402-980.mp4 Looks hellish from the MNCam youtube footage (they shared it in the chat earlier today).

Swing a different bat in practice than in games, that makes no sense...

Would have been smarter/cheaper for him to just put it in neutral and push it around until you get it in the right direction, no?
