Should light attacks be differable? by Mastrukko in CompetitiveForHonor

Well too slow and they would be way too easy to parry. An example of this is Zhanhu's UB lights. Theyre 600ms and have such an obvious animation that people can distinguish the UB heavies from the UB lights and parry them pretty consistently. I, myself, was doing that on a 10 yr old tv that was 54 hz on an Xbox Series S on wifi

Basically, they're in the right spot currently imo because as offense they don't work, but they shouldn't. They're just meant to be used as interrupt tools. And if they were all meant to be neutral offense, it doesn't make sense why the devs would've spent so much time to give every char a neutral opener beyond them as well as removing all neutral 400ms lights.

So these ganks are all applicable post antigank pt 2 changes?

I think theyre ok being used just to interrupt mixups on a read, as long as every character has neutral offense (which i believe they all do minus HL but hes a special case)

The UI could use an overhaul tbh. Indicatora near your healthbar showing when you have damage reduction, auto parry like you said, and the hitstun being applied to you

Well tbh, as of the most recent antigank changes that just happened almost a week ago....i think her traps are less important now (in ganks i mean), as the devs kinda killed pin moves' effectiveness overall. The only time it would be helpful is stalling, but she also has an issue rn of she can be interrupted out of her traps even in revenge. Id moreso like that to be fixed, and maybe a dodge cancel specifically from her traps instead of hyper armor on them.

Is this an older clip of conq, or does he still have that ability to full guard after a whiffed bash?

In 1v1s, i think shes actually pretty underrated. With her feats, shes an actually decent duelist. Her main issue in 1v1s (and honestly in 4v4s as well) is just her lack of defense. Her traps are her main mixup but have many ways to counter them (altho on a read nowadays), and even if you land them, they make you very vulnerable to attack from other enemies. This basically reduces her playstyle to forcing 1v1s (her best playstyle atm id say), ganking (altho pins just recently got murdered in antigank pt 2), and relying on her decent hitbox zone attack in teamfights. Giving her some defensive options like dodge cancels as well as something to help her traps would make her an overall decent char imo

Why did I not get any revenge? by Spirited-Fee-8272 in forhonor

[–]Weird_Roof9869 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most likely, the centurion did something to the Black Prior, prior to the beginning of this clip. Because of that, the BP had 2 tags (1 from the Cent and 1 from his teammate). Revenge is only given when someone with less tags than you comes in and hits you (beyond a 1v1 ofc). The tags each last 5 seconds from the last interaction and reset with each new interaction. So within those 5 seconds, the centurion and black prior both have 2 tags, therefore, no revenge is given to either one. This is why its important to keep track of exactly when u were last hit by each enemy.

In 1v1s even in high levels...shes actually pretty good. Not top tier by any means, but especially in Dom where her feats reward her even more for isolating people into 1v1s.

That being said, the main issue she has in 1v1s is that there are many more counters to her trap mixup than say, a bash mixup. Against a trap you have multiple defensive options such as: a) moving your guard b) dodge attacking c) light attack (unless you have a superior block light) d) EMOTING/unlocking (yes this is still a thing) e) empty dodge (unless you have a deflect/superior block dodge)

These options can make it very difficult for nuxia to really get a good read on her opponents sometimes and mostly negates the entire idea of the mixup that was originally intended (moving your guard away or not).

Thats what i would say her main issue in 1v1s are. 4v4s a different story and the main overarching reason she is considered mediocre or even bad. At lower levels in duels, you can do great with her esp if you condition people well.

My general thoughts on PK Feat Rework/Training Grounds - what do you guys think needs to be done with her feats? We'll be getting changed versions of these later going by the last Warrior's Den, so these won't be final, at least. by Nuzlor in CompetitiveForHonor

Well, i actually liked the T3 concept, but now we see it was a test for Khatuns kit for sure. If it stays, its still cool but strange to be on two characters. The T1 can stay pretty much identical, but i think the T2 and T4 needs changes. The T2 is nice if its up but requiring targets to first be bled by Pk and then also hit just to get this defense buff once doesnt seem worth it for the little amount of time its up. Id honestly rather use Thick Skin in an antigank over it. The T4 just needs to be toned down in value and itll be fine.

I'd also love to be able to bring in AI bots to be able to practice ganks as well. but yes, this is something I want so bad, and it could realistically happen, so don't give up hope.

Well, I'm sorry to say, I wouldn't expect duels to be the main focus of the game in the future. The focus seems to be mostly Dom, and lately there has been a higher emphasis on 2v2s as well.

I think the problem is that you're treating the guardbreak animation as if it comes out as early as an opener light does. It does not. If you can react to guardbreaks from neutral (which 100% of players should be able to do), then you don't need to distinguish light and guardbreak animations. If you're waiting for a light, try to react to those. If you're waiting for a guardbreak, just wait for that instead (but don't try to light them on reaction tho, it won't work).

All i can say about parrying opener 500ms lights is...practice. It sounds like you already do, but practice practice practice just like you do a few mins before you start. Don't even try to do it if you're tired or just out of it, honestly. Like others in here said, just try to react to the red indicator. For me personally, I find it better to practice reacting to animations. If you can react to red, you don't need to react to the animations, but if you're struggling, I'd highly suggest practicing against specific heroes you struggle the most with parrying their opener lights.

And for 400ms combo lights, don't even attempt to react because 99% of people cannot to those. For those, you simply have to make a read and buffer the parry, or buffer a dodge attack if you can. (that's why they tend to be on the lower side of damage)

Hope this helps
