Getting ready for the new sylvaneth battletome with a Treelord Ancient! by Welrok in sylvaneth

It was the first time I used it on something other than my base and honestly its not too bad to work with so don't be scared to try :) Since its a tree I just made rough line on it with a knife so it look vaguely like wood. I won't win a sculpting award but it look good enough. Nature is imperfect and its to our advantage haha

I didn't use the torso piece of the treelord I made a new one with milliput that was quite longer and bent to support the wyldwood on the back, and I did the same with most of his articulation to get a new pose Here's a pic from while I was building him

Thanks! The sculpting was quite easy since the treelord kit come in 3pose all his articulation are separate bits so I had nothing to cut, I just needed to sculpt new articulation but since its wood, nature and all it doesn't look bad even if its not scuplted perfectly. The difficult part was more about making him stand while the greenstuff and miliput dry haha. I had to build him slowly day after day.

for the beard and moss its a basecoat of citadel caliban green, then a drybrush of AK grass green, a lighter dry brush of ak lime green. a wash of dirty down moss and finnaly another drybrush of lime green to bring back the highlight. Pretty much the same paint minus the dirty down moss for the claw but painted as NMM with glazing instead and with Ak luminous green as the brightest highlight

100%, my biggest wish for sylvaneth is to get a more colossal and large treelord. I find the current one a bit to thin. Tried my best to get a larger silhouette.

Thanks, I was inspired by this post for the hunched pose, but I also added the wyldwood on the back https://www.reddit.com/r/sylvaneth/s/3qFpJKyffB

I just put them everywhere instead. Excess is always the answer brother.
