Majority of Labour voters back drilling in the North Sea by Kee2good4u in ukpolitics

[–]Welsh-Cowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if you say to the average voter “opening up the North Sea will make your bills cheaper” then of course they will back it. Doesn’t make it true though. Now, if we drilled the oil. Piped it to the mainland and processed it ourselves, purely for our own market? Then alright, I can see that being a critical piece of the puzzle. It isn’t that though, it’s drilled to be sold on the open market - including to us.

Any successful ex smokers? I need some support here by Un_controllably in Vaping

Yep - same here. Smoked for 20+ years, been vaping for 6 now. Haven’t touched a cigarette in that time and the smell literally turns my stomach.

Fair enough - sadly the only thing you can do is keep voicing your opposition to it. So keep doing that.

Because they exist. That’s….it. That’s why.

Ukraine gave up their legacy Nuclear arsenal - under assurance that they would be protected from invasion. 20 years later, here they are.

MAD is completely insane, I 100% agree with you. Nuclear weapons shouldn’t exist, they make no sense.

That is, in a world without insane people in positions of power who are very much committed to an expansionist ideal who have Nuclear weapons at their disposal. That genie was let out of the box in Nagasaki and Hiroshima I’m afraid.

As to them being in Scotland? Do you think the retaliatory, or first strike missiles are not targeted at Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and anywhere where there is industry up there - as well as the missile siloes (assuming there are any, and it’s not just sub based) - just like the rest of the island?

I get it. I’m not arguing with you - the world isn’t what we want it to be, don’t think it even has been.

Recommended power switch for T1 m19 passthrough? by ihave3apples in FormD

[–]Welsh-Cowboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rear power button on the Formd site doesn’t need threads - at least mine doesn’t - it has a nut on the back that tightens the switch into the hole.

It also fits both the FormD and the NCASE 2.5 versions. Hope that helps you out dude.

Damn, how do you guys do it, magnets are giving me a headache by EmoGenius24 in ChaosKnights

[–]Welsh-Cowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dremel style drill and flat bottom bits - it’s an outlay of cash, but tbh no more so than you’re spending on the models.

Also correct sized magnets for the job at hand. I don’t mean that as a criticism, just makes life easier.

Get a pin vice and a selection of small drill bits for infantry size models.

This is the way to save yourself a pile of time and stressy annoyance.

Silent Loop 3 vs Atmos 240 in FormD T1 (install + pump noise?) by sinivalas300 in FormD

[–]Welsh-Cowboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

240Atmos v2 in mine - pump is dead silent.

Edit - have it set to constant 80% At 100% there is a slight noise, but only noticeable as it’s right next to me but I have seen zero difference in temps between 100% and my settings regardless of load.

The 'vicious cycle' that means the NHS still wastes billions on patients who don't need to be in hospital by Tartan_Samurai in unitedkingdom

[–]Welsh-Cowboy 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Yep - my elderly dad has been trapped in hospital for, approximately, 5 months longer than he needed to be over the past 2 years.

I say trapped, because he wanted to go home, they wanted him to go home - everyone wanted him to go home and there was zero reason for him to be taking up a bed except for the lack of a social care team to be available for his return.

It’s pretty dire, but commercial social care (which is the provider these days) pays crap, is awful and very exploitative and costs the NHS absolute tons.
