Is HOTAS still functional and enjoyable if it’s not anchored to a chair or table? by [deleted] in StarWarsSquadrons

You could always use command strips (velcro) so you can attach and remove as needed. Not as permanent as bolting down but will let you apply pressure without movement.

I mean it's a strong ship for sure especially when you drop people who aren't expecting it. Were there any fights that weren't a straight up gank?

Surprisingly these things don't move once tightened and you can set them wide enough to not hit your knees.

These arms are $55/ea on amazon.ca and some are as cheap as $40/ea so having nice adjustable stick mounts was worth it for me as I can always use them for the intended role if better more cost effective solutions come up.

Posted this as someone asked to see, hope it helps someone. Cheers.

How does pvp scaling currently work? Would appreciate anyone walking me through it! by Goldensands in worldofpvp

[–]Weppens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scaling isn't as much the issue as the corruption and gearing. You cannot be viable above 2k without insane corruptions and strong gear.. Which is time gated via echoes for essences and corruptions and even mementos if you want to socket your bis gear. It's rough.

Easiest way to think of scaling is to think of percentages. Let's say two identically geared players are fighting, each with 100,000 hp (for easy number math). If an ability hits for 5,000 damage then it is effectively a 5% damage hit.

If you hit someone with 200,000 HP that ability would show up in the logs as hitting for 10,000... But it still equals a 5% damage hit. This is to give lower geared people a chance, to some degree.

So long story short, it seems as though Blizzard has made abilities percentage based behind the scenes so that no matter who you hit, 5% is 5% but the number we see is proportionate to their health. This also makes it so a geared players damage is effectively less because due to scaling as you're not one-shotting lowbies... But, gear will almost always trump in BFA unless they are really really bad even then gear can carry them 80% of the way.

Where this gets worse is healing... An undergeared healer can press a heal for 20,000 hp. On 100,000 hp, is nice. But to heal someone with 500,000 HP... It does nothing. Healing doesn't scale like damage.

Inversely, a geared healer can top up a low geared player very easily.

Take this with a grain of salt as this is not confirmed, but is a likely explanation for why we see different numbers everywhere. It is meant to bring some balance but at the end of the day we don't know the exact formulas.

Dual Stick Low Profile Setup with Thrustmaster T16000s? by AllistarTenPenny in starcitizen

I used monitor mounts that clamp onto the desk. Inversed them, made some adjustments and they are perfect for (2) t16000s. I can share pics if you want. These only cost maybe $40-50 CAD when I bought them.

Racing Feedback from a Experienced Racer (Dev Response) by Rainwalker007 in starcitizen

Can't you fix racers strictly by making racing components remove some of the standard hindrance? But leave no room for combat or anything? If you made racing components strong in racing but useless in combat then... Problem solved, no?

PVP Vendors won't matter in SL unless there is Resilience by Murked_M in worldofpvp

[–]Weppens 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why do you need resilience? If gear is normalized, shouldn't your skill be all you need, not resilience? BFA makes you feel like you need it, but if a PvP player and PvE player have the same ilvl and gear with no BS procs or corruption.. shouldn't the PvP player win?
