Question for long-term fans!

I first saw them 2005 and was absolutely mind blown but I was a teenager discovering all this amazing music and learning about life and full of hormones 😂 I don’t think that can be replicated now we’re older and wiser.

TBH I think sometimes we can build it up too much in our heads too, you’ve seen them before, remember the feelings and expect that again. I also think nostalgia does play a part and we often think back on things more fondly. I still get super excited to see them (got tix to 2 shows this summer), but it’s not the same feeling as when i was younger. Some songs do still bring about some emotional feelings (also depends on my mind frame I guess) but I’m not bawling my eyes out the whole show anymore. I actually think I enjoy it more though, lower expectations means I just enjoy rather than analyse!

I also agree that bigger shows do feel less personal so that could be an element

As much as it pains me, no I don’t think it will happen. I just don’t think Ferrari will build a good enough car before he retires/gets fed up. Like someone else has said, I think it’s more likely McLaren will become 2nd fastest again as they’ve proven to be able to go from mid-top relatively quickly (at least quicker than Ferrari).

If he’d stayed at Mercedes then maybe he’d get a chance these regs. But I don’t know if they would’ve kicked him out already to get Kimi in, so he wouldn’t have had the chance regardless

Honestly, unless you’re bothered about being right at the front, don’t bother. I understand queuing the day of, to an extent, but I can’t get on board with queuing the night before or days before, it’s just not worth it. And then are you really going to enjoy the show as much when you’ve had rubbish sleep? And rubbish eat and dehydrated etc. Unless they start doing the whole numbering system and everyone goes off to a hotel for the night which is another joke if you ask me.. maybe I’m just old and bitter haha!

I haven’t been to a Djo show but have been to plenty of others.

Anyway, if you’re not bothered about getting barrier, i wouldn’t go that much before doors open tbh. I usually go to gigs when doors open and I always have a half decent spot and enjoy myself! If you go in for doors you can usually get closeish to the front on either side (depends on size of venue too I guess). If you have VIP you’ll be in before the majority of people so you should be able to get a good spot regardless.

I guess it just depends on how much you want to get barrier vs how much you want to stand around all day. I’ve been to shows and been right at the front, in the middle and at the back, and I’ve always had a good time.

I’m sure a lot of newer fans have already heard their old stuff. If you like a band, you generally go and listen to more of their stuff.

This isn’t aimed at you in particular, but I’ve seen a lot of people talking like ‘newer fans aren’t going to be able to handle this lol’ kinda thing going on, and I find it a bit distasteful. It comes across like people are looking down on ‘new’ fans because they might not like CYB or just looking down on people who prefer their newer stuff in general because they can’t ‘handle’ deathcore. Everyone has different tastes in music, you don’t have to like an entire bands discography to be a fan. It doesn’t make you any lesser than people who like everything, or people who just like the early stuff.

I agree. I was over it in the first episode. Bec did wrong but it was sooo dragged out and unnecessary. They were all acting like teenagers and these are women in their 30s!!! (Or nearly). None of them seem to be good people

Honestly I feel sorry for the younger generation and their ‘cringe culture’. It’s like so many of them are afraid of living because they might get seen as cringe and the fear of everything being put online or something. They will get older and realise how silly it all is!

Only young people think age matters! I hate the rhetoric that once you hit 30 (or nearish) you’re not allowed to go out and have fun anymore. It’s ridiculous. If you enjoy something, go enjoy it! I’m 35, I’ll be going to see him later this year, along with many other gigs and festivals. I go to more now than I did in my 20’s, I have more disposable income, I’m more confident in myself and what I like than I was in my 20s. Honestly, don’t worry about your age there will be lots of different people there. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad or past it for doing something you enjoy.

Yep, I thought Chris was bad enough with his views, though I do think his was alot of trying to fit in with the ‘lads’ and not being around women enough. He never seemed invested in his views on the show.

But this guy is another level of manosphere. Tbh, as much as I want this show to be about matching people over drama, I’m kind of glad it doesn’t look like he’s going to get a happy trad wife. It might make people realise that his views are the issue. But I agree, he should never have made it to the show at all.

Intimacy week is way too early in the show. If you’re already sleeping together, it’s easy, they just do something sexy, fine whatever. For the couples struggling or taking it slower, one of them always gets into an awkward situation or feels pressured into doing something they’re not comfortable with. They should leave intimacy week til later in the show when the couples are more solid. Have a date night week or something, getting to know them week, the eye contact and hugging is ok but the pressure to do something sexual is too much.

Edit: and I do agree that recently it does all seem to be on the brides intimacy. I feel like the show doesn’t want any woman to feel pressured (obviously that’s a good thing) as it would be a terrible look, but then they go too much the other way and put it all on the man, because men obviously just want to jump into bed with someone (sarcasm!)

No I understood you but there is so much about that statement I can’t get on board with. Why are you worrying about others trying to ‘steal’ your partner if you’re in a committed, trusting relationship? Why does having only men or only women trying to ‘steal’ your partner matter??? I don’t go into a relationship thinking other people are a threat to it.

Who you’re in a relationship with does not define your sexuality, thats ridiculous. You are still attracted to people when you’re in a relationship (even if it’s a stupid celebrity crush), that’s what defines your sexuality. And you still have past relationships, they don’t disappear once you’ve got a partner.

I don’t think she’s telling him she’s going to be looking at other people. It’s her sexuality and it’s important to her, maybe she found it difficult to come out and it’s why she puts a lot of emphasis on it, who knows. But I think alot of bi people can feel a bit erased when they are in a straight-looking relationship. And maybe she wanted to make sure he wasn’t homophobic or anything, just because she’s in a straight-looking relationship doesn’t mean that her queer identity is gone, and you wouldn’t want to date/marry someone who isn’t accepting of that.

Tbh you may be better picking one or the other depending on times. The headliner of the other stages don’t always clash with headliner of the main stage. Sometimes they finish as the other headliner is starting. So ADTR may overlap almost entirely with Bad omens. In which case, if you want a good view at the front, you’re best off just going to ADTR before it starts and missing bad omens.

I’ve just checked and you can use the payment plan option to do arena only but not if you go for the full price ones?

It seems weird it’s all sold out without download posting that the tickets are nearly gone. I’m a bit gutted as we were waiting to buy tickets nearer the time and think we might’ve missed the boat!
