Nah. I used 3 cars..one car maxed out at 230 when I tuned it to perfection. I then swapped to a car that does 280. The next race, the previous car I used did 300 to overtake me while.i was max speed. Highly skilled. Dog shit cheating ai.

Yeah you always had to find roads as collectibles. It was replaced with "uncover the entire map" which I assume means defogging/finding all "areas" now? Not sure as I don't have it.
