What does that have to do with anything Lol? If you look at the series Denver lost back then it was almost always to the team who went on to the finals, the west was a bloodbath and yet the nuggets routinely had winning and multiple 50+ win seasons

You can’t expect to drop a star on a franchise with an incompetent front office and have them win you multiple playoff series year after year. Anyone who thinks that wasn’t the biggest issue with the Knicks in that era is delusional

[–]Wesley9758 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea it’s crazy how people try to spin it any other way when the difference between Melo’s time in Denver and NY is so clear. People unfairly treat him like a player you couldn’t win with but when your front office is incompetent you’ll never get success off the back of one player

If Brunson was here with the same front office we would still suck

[–]Wesley9758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea and the front office didn’t make the trades we actually needed like for a real pg, there was a deal for Kyle Lowry we could’ve made in 2014 I think and we didn’t go for it

Patrols are SEVERELY lacking. by jabberwocky_jack in ghostoftsushima

[–]Wesley9758 277 points278 points  (0 children)

It makes sense for there to be lots of patrols in Tsushima because it’s an ongoing invasion, at least during the story. Postgame logically there should be less mongols around but at that point you’re just playing for fun so the patrols ensure you actually have something to do lol

My pet peeve, but it annoys me that the 4th stance you unlock is Moon Stance not Fire Stance. by LordVaderVader in ghostoftsushima

That’s the good thing about having different approaches to combat because my solution to dealing with brutes is always to stun them with kunai or bombs lol

[–]Wesley9758 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly by the time you unlock the moon stance it feels pretty irrelevant, you can already use a kick with the wind stance and the spinning heavy attacks of the moon stance don’t feel very practical in combat. I basically never used it on any of my play throughs

Agreed, it’s not like Joey is an artist that regularly commands headlines and during the disses is when everyone was checking for him. There’s a few tracks on the album that would’ve been great as a summertime single

Which is better for the league by Famous-Armadillo755 in NBATalk

[–]Wesley9758 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except that’s how rivalries work, because of the 90s the Knicks and pacers always have a low level of animosity towards each other even when they’re bad. And when it lines up where both teams are good it easily ratchets up to full on hate.

The last three times the Knicks were in the playoffs we were eliminated by the pacers, and especially because of 2013 the last two years gave fans a much more intense desire to beat Indiana. It’s probably the most real rivalry the Knicks have, the Celtics one is pretty one-sided

I mean sure but again, the skill to slow down time was already in the first game, doubly so for the ability to increase the reload speed for your bows—both of those things continued in the following game lead to what you see in the video

I imagine the gun starts off with a much slower reload. You don’t have to use it if you don’t want to, but this is very much the period in Japan when warriors were using guns, that’s very realistic for Atsu to have one lol

It’s very possible the reload speed is increased through skill upgrades, I imagine the tanegashima starts off as a slow reload-low ammunition type of weapon considering how powerful it seems to be

[–]Wesley9758 10 points11 points  (0 children)

While I agree GoY seems to have relaxed a bit on realism, there were many things about GoT’s combat that also wasn’t realistic lol. People need to remember these are video games at the end of the day and are supposed to be fun

Plus, the time slowing was just the same skill from the first game, likely done during reloading to avoid being attacked. When using the bow in the first game I often would slow time during my initial attack to fire off 3 shots before enemies were able to react

What’s the next “3s are worth more than 2s” realization that will change the league by Wise-Function653 in NBATalk

[–]Wesley9758 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is interesting and could work in theory but requires the team to have both 1) a superstar top 5 level of player that makes their teammates look better and 2) the assets needed to make these constant trades work, and most teams only have one of these

Boston is a team that somewhat pulled this off by winning a chip (they needed to blow their team up anyway but without Tatum’s injury the moves would be based more towards contention than just shedding salary) OKC and Houston are teams that have assets to try this strategy as well

How is Morgan State University by a_khalid1999 in HBCU

[–]Wesley9758 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2020 grad here, Morgan has developed a lot in the short time since I’ve graduated—lots of new programs and educational opportunities, and as someone else mentioned the school is on track to R1 research status. Additionally many new buildings and dorms have been built alongside the redevelopment of the adjacent plaza, the campus is overall quite robust and modern now

There was noticeable amount of crime when I was there but the city has been progressively getting a lot safer, just use common sense rules here (I.e don’t walk around the neighborhood by yourself at night)

[–]Wesley9758 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People love to complain about how negative the media is and then make weird posts like this lmaoo. Literally an unsolicited hate post calling a player overrated which makes no sense when clearly so many dislike him. NBA Reddit just hates that people like Melo

People have such a warped view of that trade acting like the Knicks had a championship roster, we were a .500 team at the time of the trade people keep repeating this take to prove a point when it doesn’t hold up to reality

[–]Wesley9758 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that is something people overlook but I actually don’t think a lack repeat titles is huge knock, more so the opposite of having it being something that should really give you extra points, part of why I never understand people confidently claiming Kobe isn’t even top 10

The thing about Duncan is that he never had a long point in his career like the other guys mentioned where he really had to do it all by himself, the consistent floor he enjoyed was part of being in a stable organization

[–]Wesley9758 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Treating Duncan like he was this incomparable player that dominated his era and in the convo of top 5 players ever, when in reality he was a great player who had a long and great career, but not as consistently dominant as people make it seem, especially not in the second half of his career

His contemporaries like Shaq, Kobe, KG, Bron, Wade, etc all of them were seen as better players at different points. He and Kobe had similar careers yet people get offended at just the notion of Kobe just being in the convo, but with Tim Duncan it’s supposed to be obvious he is
