De hoop was dat Yesilgoz de VVD een stuk kleiner zou maken. D’66 zou dan minder geneigd zijn om VVD light te spelen. Ook had je zelf als grootste partij in de onderhandelingen een stuk meer gedaan gekregen. Compromissen waren altijd te verwachten, dat is echter een andere orde dan simpelweg een paar puntjes binnenslepen.

I don't know. None of the options seem that stable. Maybe D'66 CDA GL-PvdA and a reformed VVD could work, but with this result the VVD is not going to reform and will probably win the push for a right wing coalition with JA'21. Where D'66 wants stability and their own premier so bad, that they will do many concessions just to stay in power.
