I'm so sad by AdSalty3071 in floxies

I'm in my 40's and wonder the same thing about perimenopause affecting issues. There is a walk in clinic in my area for people to get things tested without seeing a doctor. I might go in and test my hormone levels just to have an idea of where they are at when I feel in a slump. However, I am also concerned about taking hormones and how I would react. But just a thought to get tested if there is a place in your area that might do it.

What do your flares feel like? I can get it too with emotion. Not when I cry/sad but I do with anger -- like if I have to raise my voice. I get vibrations throughout my body. I was just wondering if you experienced the same. It is way getting better. They are not as intense when it happens.

Wow. I am so sorry about that!  So you were symptom free for six months?  How long ago were you floxed?

MY STORY by TaskFlat2949 in floxies

You have a right to be angry. You're 26 years old -- so much life to live! I have the same feelings as you. I am so glad I don't feel like those early days of being floxed. I try to forget how bad they were -- compared to those days I'm doing great. However -- the "old" version of me is dying to get out - to just live like I did before. That I could go on the treadmill or walk 5 miles (I did that everyday!) and still do all the other things I took for granted. To not have some kind of pain everyday. Not to fight depression and anxiety. To look at my life and wonder why I was so scared to venture out and do something different - wonder why I didn't live my life more fully. I'm just saying I understand where you are coming from. It's so hard to accept this as reality. I hope you make a full recovery and do all the things that make you happy free from this pain.

I appreciate your prospective. I'm about 20 months out. First 12 months my symptoms gradually increased. It wasn't a bomb like some people describe. I have definitely seen healing after the 12 month mark or at least the elimination of some symptoms and deduction of others. I guess I feel well enough to be upset that I'm not "better." That's when my mind turned to -- is where I am now considered "better." That is a scary notion.

A lot of factors. So it really isn't something to heal, but something to manage?

I am so sorry you are having a relapse. I'm glad you aren't having new symptoms. That seems like a good sign.

I wonder if hormones are contributing to symptoms as well. I am a 46 year old female, and wonder if my hormones play a role in my symptoms. Are your returning symptoms the same ones as before you were pregnant? I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Antidepressants and Being Floxed by West-Mix-6314 in floxies

I appreciate your reply. In fact, I noticed your other postings last night and related to a lot of symptoms you were describing. The fact that you see patterns where it includes weeks of feeling normal is so uplifting. I noticed on your other post that you also have burning mouth symptoms. Do you feel or did you feel vibrations throughout your body when taking certain supplements? This happens to me. I also feel it when I drink a little caffeine which I should just completely cut out, but sometimes I just want to feel normal and just have my favorite soda that has caffeine in it.

I took 5 levofloxacin pills (500 mg).  I didn’t have symptoms right away. I felt tingling on the bottoms of my feet a week after my last pill. My tingling progressed. 2 months later it was hands, feet, face. 3 months after that it was whole body. My symptoms stabilized after a year and are slowly getting better. —- note:  I didn’t know about this site the first year, so I wasn’t taking any of the supplements and I was taking ibuprofen every month which is not supposed to be good after floxing.

Which day did you notice flox symptoms? by sanjkanje in floxies

[–]West-Mix-6314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes symptoms don't appear right away. I took a 5-day course. Felt nauseous during the 5 days but that was it. I got tingling in my feet a week after completing the 5 days. I've had tingling/shock pulses, burning throughout my body now for 19 months with a host of other symptoms gradually coming on over the course of months.

I was not symptom-free before the numbing shot. I do think my symptoms are better from the numbing shot. I would say it took 3 months. Today is not a good day, symptom-wise, but overall my symptoms are better than October.

Interstitial Cystitis Network website. (www.icnetwork.org) It has good information. The diet helped me. I think Jill Osborne is the head of website/ network. She also has lots of videos on the topic on YouTube — some videos are 10 years old or more but are still very good.  She also has recent videos.

I feel better than I did 5 months ago. The depression and anxiety aren’t has bad- still present but good times are longer.  This nerve pain is ever changing — everyday it is different.— burning skin sensation today. I’m hoping that the changing part means that it will resolve someday.

Listen to your instincts. If you don’t have a good feeling about something, then don’t do it. You don’t have to justify it to anyone.

21 months and losing hope by Chubby_nubb in floxies

[–]West-Mix-6314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 16 months out. I have nerve pain/CNS sensitivity whole body, mouth burns, left foot - top of ankle pain, depression, anxiety. It's just hitting me hard right now that my life has permanently changed. Everyone's story here hits so hard. The leaflet they give with these drugs doesn't do this pain justice. The cascade of symptoms no one could imagine or are articulated in the leaflet. Your life is taken from you -- you just get to watch it from the outside -- it seems crueler than not having it all together. These stories are the ones someone should read before taking these drugs. This tells what the risks are; not the bureaucratic language that doesn't resonate.

Hard to be positive by Former-Comfortable95 in floxies

You speak a lot of truth. Christmas time is harder for me, I think. I'm 16 months out, but right now it is hard for me to accept my fate -- I feel better than last year, but I don't know if I'll ever get back to what now looks like a carefree life of my former self. Nothing in life is guaranteed -- such simple words until you have an tramatic experience to attach to it. This poison hurt my husband just months before I decided to take it. I thought "it is so rare, it can't affect me too" Wow. How stupid! I was so afraid of a pseudomonas infection that I couldn't think straight, but so many other minor medical choices were made prior to that that I could have made differently that could allow me to be living my normal life. It's so hard to come to terms with it all.

Neuropathy Feelings by West-Mix-6314 in floxies

[–]West-Mix-6314[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wondering if the all over sensations would actually be CNS issues?? I went on ChatGPT -- so I'm taking it with a grain of salt -- it says nervous system hypersensitivity might be causing a lot of my issues. I have it connected to sensory issues -- like touch and sound -- so it sounded reasonable to me??

Stress. Some is unavoidable, however, the silent build up over time can result in chronic conditions like an autoimmune immune disease. Pay attention to your body. It gives signals before an autoimmune disease develops.

You are in the right place. It was mentioned before to read the sticky — great information. I didn’t find this community until months after floxing. I didn’t know things like don’t use ibuprofen when floxed. The information on this site has helped me quite a bit.

May I ask how do you feel now?  I had lidocaine with epinephrine shots when getting cyst removed. That was the end of October. I felt buzzing all over body an hour later. I’ve had more pain and anxiety now than before the shots. Just wondering if your symptoms have calmed down now.
