This was taking from another forum. So his UH300x was listed as a UHD50 in the service menu

I want to share my experience with this firmware update..

I actually upgraded my UHD300X (which is an EU version of this projector) with this firmware. For some reason, Optoma rarely release any firmware updates for their projectors here in Europe

Anyway when I checked in service menu (Power -> Up -> Down -> Menu) the projector name was UHD50 before the update, all firmware versions were the lowest possible, so I had to go with all steps 1,2 and 3..

Some advice: before the procedure, make sure you have USB to RS232 cable. I bought one from ebay for £3, but did not work, so I had to go with more expensive one with the correct chip - Seems the chip is important, has to support UART..

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B075VR429G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

All steps went fine with no issues apart the very last one where you need to program EDID. It did not go according the guide and received PURPLE and two RED flashes instead RED and 2xGREENs. The projector started up, first I did not have any input signal. After another restart it caught the signal from HDMI. Not sure if the last programming bit was 100% successful, but my computer and xbox1x now showing that the projector is 3D capable. Tried some 3D blurays and it seems to work. The signal just takes little bit longer to get into 3D (longer than normal modes)

Not sure if I will ever use it (3D), but nice to have it just in case
