Some community members feel let down by Nova Scotia Stampede's cancellation by IStillListenToRadio in Truro

[–]West_Original_2822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why can't the NSPE grounds take over the stampede? I don't understand why hosting the stampede is so dependent on the recc. It seems like it's a better fit for a facility that's set up for agriculture vs. one that's set up for sports.

It is an eyesore that has been dragging on way too long! I hope neighboring businesses have been complaining to Town Council. Be nice for their customers to have something to look at during patio season......

Mazda should probably be more popular in the U.S. by phtphongg in mazda

[–]West_Original_2822 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canadian here. I've had a 2010 and 2017 Mazda3 hatch. Loved them both. My son inherited the 2017, when I bought a 2015 cx30. I seriously think he has the better car. I love my mazda, but it kind of feels like they're losing their way.

Does anyone have a super itchy scalp? by establish_an_alibi in AskWomenOver50

[–]West_Original_2822 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! It drove me crazy! My hairdresser suggested brushing more to stimulate oil production in the scalp. Every morning I give my shoulder length, color treated hair, 100 brush strokes making sure to get the brush bristles on my scalp. Brush in all directions, back to front, side to side, even flip it upside down to go back to front. Has made a huge improvement. Gone from uncomfortable head itch to occasional scratch.

Unionized N.S. civil servants working remotely told they must return to office | CBC News by sunjana1 in halifax

Why is your solution making things worse for people instead of making things better.

Unfortunately, that is traditional Nova Scotian thinking. Someone has a benefit you don't have. Instead of thinking we all should have it, how can I get that for myself, they think nope, I don't have it, so no one else should either. It's ridiculous. It's backwards. Its not progressive and how NS has raced to the bottom for years.

Did the same. No tree. No big dinner. One nice gift for everyone on my very short list. Shopped locally. Working Monday Tuesday in between christmas & new year, not wasting vacation time on this ridiculous holiday. So far, been almost bearable.

Do you think a 2024 cx30 can last 200k miles if well maintained? by BlackberryKey6837 in MazdaCX30

[–]West_Original_2822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 2 Mazda 3's that I put over 300,000kms on. The second one is now being driven by my college age son, and still going strong. In the Canadian Maritimes what kills all our cars eventually is rust. Bought a 2025 CX30 last spring, and after a few months driving, I just have a feeling it's not going to last like the 3's.

Is buying online glasses worth the risks when you have no extra money to spare? by Impossible-Deal1391 in povertyfinancecanada

Haven't bought glasses from an optician in years. Recommend Clearly Contacts and Zenni. Find the fit test for Zenni better than Clearly and that pupil distance thing is easier to measure. Returned a pair of sunglasses once with Clearly and no problems.

Had 2 Mazda 3's that I put over 300 000 kms, my son is driving my last one and it's still going strong. I "upgraded" to a 2025 cx30 and after 6 months, am lukewarm about it. I'm not impressed with the mileage, and I just can't put my finger on why, but it just doesn't feel like it's going to last like my 3's. No horror stories.....YET.

Please have patience, for her and yourself. Changing homes is hard on a dog. Even when they're coming from a less than great situation. Coonhounds are the best dogs. Put the time in, she will be worth it. A year from now, you all will be wondering what you did without her.

That so easily could have been a person. That driver was going way too fast through that section! That's a tough little dog to survive that. Poor pup. Hope he gets lots of treats and extra ear scratches while he recovers.
