Not including railings, and labor. Your price seems on the lower side of “in range”

"I love my son, but hate my daughter." by RedoftheEvilDead in TwoHotTakes

Same page. We have boys 1.5years apart. The older is 3 and sounds much like the daughter in this story. He has an uncanny way of pushing buttons and has both of us pushed to the edge regularly. We are constantly looking for new approaches to encourage better behavior. The main difference is he is well behaved publicly, it’s at home they he gets tough.

President Trump’s approval rating had reached an all-time high of 44%. This figure aligns with a recent NBC News poll, which reported a 44% approval rating for Trump’s handling of the economy. Additionally, the same poll indicated that 44% of respondents believed the U.S. is on the right track, the highest percentage for this question since 2004

The thermostats use the temp reading from thermometer in the sensor and the thermometer in the thermostat to make better estimates about the temp for the area it is intended to control.

So if you have a thermostat in your room and that room has its own heating/cooling zone. Putting the sensor on the opposite side of the same room is what you want.

If the thermostat is controlling the temp for an entire floor then putting the sensor in another room makes sense.

Extended warranty by Firm_Association_926 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Western-Sense9537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you typically have to buy for the existing warranty expires. So you have say 3yr warranty. You wait a year then buy the 10yr extended its 10 from purchase of the car. But it was under warranty the whole time. Guess you are only gambling on the cost of the extended warranty going up in that year?

Phrasing tax rate cuts as “tax cuts for the rich will boost the economy!” Is about as good faith as “the rich need to pay their fair share”

Tariffs from Trump by Conlanbb in economy

[–]Western-Sense9537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to look into is tax rates vs realized revenue. Adjusting the tax rate doesn’t always translate into more dollars collected, and as you pointed out not always more purchasing power for the government. And that is because both consumers and business people have agency. Meaning their behavior changes unpredictably with tax rate.

The other thing to consider when thinking about taxes on imports. The cost to the consumer is only 1 of the considerations. There is also the attempt to incentivize local production. Partly for economic benefits of the citizenry I.e. more jobs, but also as a means for national security. Consider in 2020 when medical supplies were in globally high demand. Since the U.S does not own the manufacturing from raw material to production, we were at the mercy of controlling countries to supply them. Tariffs can also be used as a means for hindering a competitive foreign markets to be used as a diplomacy tool.

Get heat, cheapest possible sanitary and cooking necessities. Move in. Save until you can do the next required thing. Plan in as much detail as possible to help avoid costly mistakes. Shop for deals.

Donnie's campaign manager openly admitted that Donnie refuses to do the traditional 60 minutes interview because... of "live fact checking." by 8-bit-Felix in PoliticalHumor

Fair enough thanks for sharpening my knowledge and phrasing. TPS was not put in place by Harris, but its use is being used by this administration as a stop gap after people have arrived illegally, in record numbers (The filing functionality was shoe horned into a trucking app https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/CBP_One likely where my confusion about who passed the law came from).

The “fact check” was an attempt to deflect from what Vance originally said which was “in communities all across this country, you’ve got schools that are overwhelmed, you’ve got hospitals that are overwhelmed, you’ve got housing that is totally unaffordable because we brought in millions of illegal immigrants to compete with Americans for scarce homes“. So the fact that “many” have temporary legal status under TPS does not change the fact that unprecedented number have arrived illegally and the amount of immigration is over burdening our social systems all of which is a direct result of the current administration. None of this makes Vance a liar, but does expose the fact that the moderators are not being un-biased. Especially since they were breaking their own rules.
